Jericho's Wish Animal Rescue is a Non-Profit (501(c)3 pending) organization that was founded in February 2013. I have always been an animal lover my whole entire life. I have had the pleasure of owning everything from a fish to a horse. I worked at an emergency animal hospital, Equine Vet, worked on a horse farm, fostered kittens for a Philadelphia animal shelter, volunteered at Burlington County Animal Shelter and then fostered dogs/puppies for the Burlington County Animal Alliance.
Fostering for Burlington County Animal Alliance started me out on the journey to start a animal rescue. I started fostering Jericho (German Shepherd) back in October 2012. Jericho was pulled from the Burlington County Animal Shelter due to having heart worms. The heart worm treatment was a success! Jericho was diagnosed with a slipped disc in December of 2012. Everything treatment that could of been done to help him besides surgery (which was over $2000 and no guarantee that it would help)was done. After talking with Dr. Lisa (House Paws) and Dr. Wolf (Willingboro Vet) it was agreed to have him put down to relieve him from the pain that he was suffering. I was very attached to Jericho and I wanted something to honor him, which started me on the path of an animal rescue.
Jericho's Wish pulls dogs/puppies from shelters in North Carolina and South Carolina to save them from euthanasia. After they are pulled from the shelters they will go to a local vet to make sure they are up to date with their shots, HW-, spayed/neutered and healthy. Once they arrive in NJ they will go into a foster home where they will receive love and companionship.
