Whether you are giving yourself a gift or buying one for your special friend or pet, please visit our shelter gift shop. We have wonderful, healthy treats, various dog and cat toys, leashes and collars, and seasonal gift suggestions! We have our popular Dean Russo Pit Bull t-shirts and sweatshirts in stock. All the proceeds go directly back to help the animals.

We welcome volunteers to come and help at the shelter, please visit our website for more details.

We can always use paper towels, copier paper, laundry detergent, heavy-duty trash bags, dog biscuits, washable dog and cat toys, canned cat food, bath towels and blankets in good condition, fabric softener, and non-clumping cat litter. If you have some donations and are not quite sure if we can use them, please feel free to email us at and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Our shelter operates a low cost spay/neuter clinic for cats and dogs. We believe in early spay/neuter to prevent health problems and unwanted litters. Our clinic is staffed by licensed veterinarians. We have surgeries twice a week and can also provide heartworm testing, feline leukemia/FIV testing, and vaccinations at the time of surgery. If your pet receives both a Rabies and Distemper vaccine at the time of their surgery, you will receive a $10 discount. In order to schedule an appointment, you need to complete a Spay/Neuter Consent Form. You can find more information about pricing and requirements here. After you have sent in or faxed your paperwork, you will need to give us a call at 609-347-2487 between 11am and 3pm Tuesday through Sunday to schedule an appointment. If you are an Atlantic City resident and own a pit bull, you may be eligible for a free spay or neuter surgery for your pet. Call for more information.

We have a full service animal hospital on the premises that is open to the public, providing veterinary care to the pets in our community. Our hospital can provide services ranging from puppy and kitten vaccines, to routine preventative care, to dentals, surgeries, and some orthopedics. We have a complete pharmacy to provide most of your petsí prescription needs, including Heartgard Plus, Frontline Plus, Advantage for Cats, K9 Advantix for Dogs, and Advantage Multi. We strive to keep our prices as low as possible, comparable or less than online pharmacies, and all proceeds help to fund our animal shelter. To make an appointment, please call (609) 348-8076. We have convenient hours and four veterinarians on staff. You can find more information about our veterinary services here.

We realize that there might be circumstances where you can no longer keep your pet. Surrenders are accepted Tuesday through Sunday between 11am and 2pm. The surrender fee for dogs and puppies is $75. Cat surrenders are $50 and kitten litter surrenders are $60 for up to six kittens, plus a $20 spay deposit for the mother. Cats and kittens must receive a distemper vaccine and deworming and go home with the surrenderer for ten days before being admitted into the shelter, unless there is proof of a current distemper vaccine. The cost of the vaccine and dewormer is included in the surrender fee. Please call the shelter for more information about our surrender policies if you have questions. If you are having behavioral problems with your pet, we would be happy to help you work through them and offer advice.

If you find a stray animal, call your local police or animal control officer so the animal can be taken to the facility that handles animals for that city. You are welcome to file a "lost" or "found" report with us as well, but we cannot accept stray animals at our shelter.

This unique program helps dogs and puppies from the day they arrive at our shelter. We start their training at the shelter and offer a free obedience lesson courtesy of Seashore Dog Training to anyone who adopts a puppy or dog from us. Please take advantage of this program when you adopt from us, by calling the number or contacting the email address on your training coupon.
