Who We Are

Friends of Homeless Animals (FoHA) is a non-profit animal wefare
organization staffed 100% by volunteers.
We do not have a brick and mortar shelter but rely on our wonderful
foster parents to care for our animals until they have been adopted
into the loving homes they deserve.
We are seeking foster homes and permanent homes for abandoned cats and kittens. We at Friends of Homeless Animals believe that every cat deserves
regular veterinary care, food and a safe environment to live in.
All of our cats and kittens are fostered in private homes,
and are cared for as if they were our own.

All cats have received :

  1. general veterinary check ups
  2. treatment for illness and injuries
  3. age appropriate shots (distemper and rabies only)

  4. age appropriate spay/neuter
  5. tested for FIV & FeLV
  6. fecal tested and wormed accordingly

Cats and kittens that are older than 16 weeks of age
are spayed or neutered.
If you adopt a kitten that is to young to be altered,
we require you agree by contract to spay/neuter them
by the age of 6 months.
We will refer you to low cost spay/neuter programs.
See the list below for your convenience.
Friends of Homeless Animals is not responsible for veterinary expenses after adoption.
We strive to place each cat/kitten in a new home that is best suited for its needs.
Our kittens are not available for adoption until they are 8-10 weeks old.

Adopting a friend

If you would like to adopt a cat or kitten, you will need to complete an
Application for Adoption and submit it for processing.
On the application we ask for general family information,
prior pet experience and pet history, 2 personal references and
a veterinary reference. If you don't have a vet because
this is your first pet, we need to you locate one.
Once your application is processed and you have chosen a kitty,
we will arrange to deliver your new bundle of joy to your home.
Our adoption fee begins at $80 and goes up to $150.
If you would like an application for adoption please contact us at
973-620-0284 or e-mail foha@sbcglobal.net.com.
It may seem that we are being overly cautious with the
Application to Adopt, but keep in mind that all our animals
are fostered in our homes and we are looking for the best homes,
not just any home.
