Molly

Poor Molly has had a very rough started to her first 6 months of life before being rescued. She was abandoned and left to starve. Luckily, she was found by an animal control officer and was rushed to the vet. She was extremely emaciated and no one was really sure if she would make it. She stayed at the vet for several days before she was stabilized enough to go into a foster home. She has been in foster care for close to a month now, if not more and has finally gained enough weight that she can be adopted. If you go to her profile, you will find 3 pictures. The first of her three pictures is the most recent. The middle picture was taken after she came home from the hospital. The last picture was taken at the hospital the night she was found. You can see how much progress she has made. She is a very sweet girl and has had such a hard life. She deserves to go to a forever home where she will be pampered and spoiled the rest of her life. She is such an angel and she needs a great home. She gets along well with all people and other animals, and is housetrained. Please adopt this princess soon.

If you are interested in meeting Molly, please e-mail her foster parents at ilovemypet111@comcast.net .She is not at the shelter and will remain in foster care until adopted. She will be spayed prior to adoption.

Who We Are

The Collingswood Stray Animal Fund is an all volunteer not-for-profit organization dedicated to fundraising to assist with the medical expenses of sick and injured dogs and cats so they may be adopted. We also provide foster care (when available) so these animals may heal without the added stress of living in an animal shelter. Orphaned puppies and kittens who are too young to survive on their own in a shelter are also cared for. Relationships with local veterinarians have been established for the treatment of these animals so they may live a happy, healthy life in a permanent new home. The Collingswood Stray Animal Fund, through humane education, community involvement and action, intends to lead the way in promoting the human / companion animal bond and the positive relationship between people and their pets.

Adoption Application

If you are interested in adopting one of the animals on the website, we require that you fill out an adoption application. Please copy and paste the application into a word or text document and fill out the information. Then send the application to welshzoo@aol.com so that it may be reviewed. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail us.

For our adoption procedure, we do vet checks and we make sure you own your home, or your landlord will let you have a pet. The adoption cost for all animals adopted through our fund is $150.00, which includes spay/neuter and vaccines.

News

The Collingswood Stray Animal Fund is embarking on a humane education and awareness project titled: "Art for the Animals: Project 318." This is a community art project which hopes to bring awareness to the plight of homeless dogs and cats, encourage spay/neuter to decrease the unwanted population, encourage responsible pet ownership and adoption from local animal shelters and rescue organizations. Please check back to this web site for locations, dates and times we will be showing our projects.

The name "Project 318" signifies the average number of dogs and cats who are euthanized every month in Camden County alone. Our project hopes to bring meaning to the voiceless lives lost each month in our county.

Donations are needed to help pay for the medical expenses of the animals in our care. If you would like to donate, please send a check payable to Collingswood Stray Animal Fund, c/o Collingswood Borough Hall, 678 Haddon Ave. Collingswood, NJ 08108.

Unfortunately, we do not have an animal sanctuary at this time. We are a foster network with volunteers caring for the animals in their homes. If you would like more information or to make an appointment to meet one of our animals, please e-mail us at welshzoo@aol.com or call us at (856) 854-4628. Of course we welcome anyone would like to volunteer. We are always looking for people who are willing to support our cause. There is always something for everyone to do. Our volunteers plan fundraising events, provide foster care, visit schools or organizations for humane education and much more.
