Safe Hounds Beagle Rescue is an all-volunteer, foster based dog rescue that was founded in 2005 for the purpose of saving homeless Beagles and Beagle mixed dogs and finding them loving, permanent homes. We are a 501(c)(3) public charity supported entirely by donations and various fundraisers.
The majority of the dogs that enter the Safe Hounds Beagle Rescue foster program come directly from animal shelters. Although most of the dogs we take into our program come from public animal control facilities, we do not receive Federal, State, or local funding or subsidies of any kind, nor do we receive funds from other animal welfare charities to help cover our expenses. The success of our rescue and our ability to meet the needs of the dogs in our care depends on the generosity of caring people. We are always in need of monetary donations as well as dog food, basic supplies, and new/gently used items for our eBay fundraising auction. Please contact us by email if you are interested in making an in-kind donation of merchandise, supplies, or services.
Safe Hounds Beagle Rescue doesn't operate a kennel or animal shelter where people can go to meet our adoptable dogs. Each Beagle lives with a volunteer foster family while awaiting a forever home. We believe this is the best environment for the dogs because it allows us to attend to their individual needs, and also gives us the opportunity to us observe and evaluate each dog in a home setting to assess their personality and readiness for placement in an adoptive home. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate visitors to our foster homes. Once an applicant has been approved to adopt we will arrange an introduction with a dog at the applicants' home, or other convenient location.
