WHO WE ARE

The Center for Avian Adoption, Rescue, and Education (CAARE) is a parrot shelter, focusing on rescue, education, and adoption of companion parrots. The shelter is 100% volunteer-ran and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the state of North Dakota. We provide temporary housing and care for any and all Psittacine birds while we work to find them a new adoptive family through our Adoption Process.

ADOPTABLE PARROTS: All of our adoptable parrots are listed on our website here.

ADOPTING A PARROT

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN A 200-MILE RADIUS OF FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA.

C.A.A.R.E. is dedicated to the well-being of all of the parrots surrendered into our care. Applications for adoption are required and are reviewed by the Adoption Committee for a decision on placement.

Parrots placed by C.A.A.R.E. are not to be used for breeding purposes and may not be sold to others. If the adoptive family is unable to keep the parrot for any reason whatsoever, the parrot must be returned to C.A.A.R.E.

If you are interested in adopting a parrot, please contact us for additional information.
