APSPCAnimal Protection Society of Person County, APSofPC, is an IRS recognized non-profit 501c3 organization. We are a group of volunteers that open our hearts and homes to the homeless, neglected, abused animals.

We also rescue animals from the shelter that are in danger of being euthanized. We take great pride in our adoption program. All of our animals rescued are placed in to foster care where they receive love, nourishment, and medical care.

Our adoption fee ranges from $75 - $400 and includes spay - neuter, vaccinations, heart worm test, any necessary medical needs the animal incurred while in our care.

We are adoption partners with PetSmart and frequently take our adoptable pets to PetSmart-Northpointe Drive in Durham. We occasionally have an Adopt-a-Thon at the Main Street Pavilion and Meet & Greets at Tractor Supply in Roxboro, NC. Check with us for the next Adopt-a-Thon or Meet & Greet date.

We operate solely on private contributions from our supporters and are very grateful for their support. Make payments with PayPal - it's fast, free and secure!

Donations are fully tax deductible by IRS Rules.

Become a foster for APSofPC

Do you feel disturbed by the sight of a hungry dog, an injured cat, or a stray homeless mama dog with puppies?

Do you want to do something to mitigate their suffering?

Become a foster parent and help these forgotten animals. Sometimes they just need a little more time to find their forever home.

Who can foster?

The APSofPC is in need of foster parents year round. In addition to rescuing animals that are homeless, needy, and abandoned, we also rescue animals from the high kill shelter here in Person County, NC whose time has run out.

These grateful animals are placed into temporary homes so they can receive the socialization, love and extra care they need while waiting to find their forever home.

What are the requirements?

Prospective foster parents may download a foster application and return it by US Mail.

Once approved as a potential foster program applicant the next step is a home visit and personal interview.

Following the interview we will then contact you with a foster opportunity that matches your environment.

The need for foster parents is always there. The more volunteers we receive the more animals we can save.

What are the expenses?

The APSofPC provides all the supplies needed to care for the foster animals.

This includes:

  • food
  • litter
  • medications
  • bedding
  • toys
  • other enrichment items
  • veterinary care

However, any of the materials that you can provide will help offset costs and will go a long way to saving more animals.

Fostering instills a huge sense of accomplishment because you single handedly give a pet a second chance at life! Without foster parents hundreds of animals never receive the opportunity to find a loving home.

A foster animal becomes part of your family and will love you unconditionally and be forever grateful for a second chance

Animals in a shelter environment

Due to the influx of animals and no spay/neuter laws, the euthanasia rate is high at the our local County shelter.

"Helpless animals die everyday because people just get tired of them and take them to the shelter."

Please spay/neuter your pets to help reduce the overpopulation which results in euthanasia of our beloved pets. You may contact us for low/cost spay/neuter clinics at 3365148689
