Our Featured Pet...

Our pet of the month is Bambi--a red nose pit bull babe. She's 12 months old, high energy, and very, very lovable. She plays well with the other dogs and just wants to be friends. She is very well mannered when riding in the car--sits up in the middle of the back seat and takes in the scenery, walks well on a leash, knows how to sit, and comes when called. She loves to play fetch! Bambi sometimes thinks she is a lap dog, and will look at you with those pretty golden begging eyes just to have you love her a little.

We will be at the Tractor Supply Company on US 223 in Adrian on Saturday, October 20th from 10am-2pm. Come see our selection of dogs just waiting for a forever home. ++++++++++++++++++++ WE ARE DOWNSIZING. Due to a decline in my husband's health and increasing cardiac issues, he can no longer help out very much with the dogs. Since I work full time and an hour from home, it's difficult to work split shifts in order to come home to let dogs out mid day. Our big dogs need to quickly find good homes as my husband cannot handle big dogs any more. Please take a look and consider any of our beautiful dogs. All are very friendly except the black lab Beckham ,who will need a very special dog savvy person to adopt him. All love kids and other dogs and are very playful. Most are housetrained, all are kennel and crate trained. Due to the downsizing, we can no longer accept dogs unless they are small or very young puppies. We apologize and are very saddened that we can no longer help very much in the crisis of unwanted animals. ******************** A friend and priceless addition to our cause is Animal Behaviorlist and trainer from Tecumseh, Annie Schiller, who also owns the Heavenly Days Boarding. For information about her boarding kennels, training, evaluations, and expertise, check out her website at ******************* ************************************************************************** We would like to extend a very special thank you to the Kelly Vet Clinic, Pet Supplies Plus, and the Tractor Supply Co. (TSC) in Adrian for their support, donations, and time. Also a big thanks to those of you that so generously have donated monetary gifts as well as necessities. We could not continue to rescue dogs without your help. A long time contributor,Becky's Country Kitchen in Blissfield has generously offered $10 gift certificates for the families for each adoption. We are grateful for their love of animals and their support in our rescued animals in finding new homes. ************************************************************************** There are still people that haven't learned the importance of spaying and neutering. The shelters and rescues are full of unwanted pets, and there are more popping up every day. Please, if you have a pet that isn't spayed or neutered, get it done. Everyone loves puppies...........until they grow up. Many, many dogs are sent to shelters and rescues because they no longer fit the cute stage, or the family has now grown bored with them, or they don't understand the traits of the breed. Reading up on a breed before adopting may help in decisions of what type of dog to get. After reading and making sure you are ready for a puppy or adult dog, please check out our site. We currently have several different breeds and different sizes. All of our puppies/dogs are complete in vet work up to the age they can be. All puppies/dogs are spayed or neutered before adoption. Pets are a lifetime commitment. Take the needed time to make sure you are ready for that, then enjoy a new addition to your family!

Who We Are

Caring 4 Canines Rescue has been in existance since May of 2003. In that short time we have been able to place over 850 dogs , 20 cats and 6 guinea pigs in happy forever homes. We strongly encourage you to adopt from a shelter or rescue. These are the dogs in need. These are the ones that will be your grateful friend forever. For each dog adopted, we can save one more. Please open your hearts to those in need. If you wish to help in medical for any of these dogs, please send a donation to Kelly Vet Clinic 4108 S Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI 49221 and ask them to apply to the Caring 4 Canines account, or send directly to us at 2601 Packard Road, Sand Creek, MI 49279. These donations help treat heartworm positive dogs, emergency surgeries, and special cases of need. We thank you for your generosity and helping us to give one more dog a new "leash" on life.

Adopting a friend

Each of our dogs are encouraged to play with other dogs, and are exposed to children on a daily basis. Complete vet work is done and most dogs are housetrained before adoption. All dogs are on heartworm prevention and are flea/tick treated. We realize that the personalities of dogs are very different as are people, and will strive to find the best match in a forever home. When preparing to adopt a mix breed, it is suggested that you obtain information on each mix to be prepared for the habits or personalities of each. Remember also that dogs differ in the amount of time they take to adjust. With patience and love, your adopted dog will become a friend for life giving you unconditional love always. Donate a BedWe have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our boarding facilities because they are so good for our dogs. We still don't have enough for all of our kennels. If you would like to donate a bed so another dog can sleep in proper comfort, please click here.
