A good ferret reference (in my opinion) is FERRETS FOR DUMMIES.
WANTED: HOSPICE PARENTS
The West Michigan Ferret Connection often receives offers from people wanting to foster. Generally, all they want is a free ferret. I can't do that.
The West Michigan Ferret Connection has a large number of ferrets who have become "permanent residents" largely because of their age. There may also be health issues, which makes them unsuitable for placement. I don't need foster parents, I need "Hospice Parents". "Hospice Parents" need to be ferret knowledgeable and definitely committed to giving a shelter ferret quality time and the ability to cover medical expenses beyond this shelter's capabilities. A Hospice Parent needs to own a home. If renting, you must show written approval in your lease. There must not be young children in the home. Hospice Parents receive NO pay, benefits, or compensation of any kind from the WMFC.
