Our Pet List

ANNOUNCEMENT -- We all have been so fortunate to care for so many delightful dogs and to meet such wonderful and caring pet lovers. We appreciate all of you who have supported us and cared as much as we do about these great companions. Although we have not been accepting many dogs recently, we have just taken in three really nice dogs all from the same home. We are very committed to finding them the best home possible and then we will probably taken a break. Of course, we will not turn anyone away if it is truly an emergency -- we still are here to help and to provide a second chance for dogs in trouble. Thank you for understanding.

Pet of the Month

Our pet of the month introduces herself... "Hello. My name is Frankie and I am a very nice Beagle. I was with my second family for several years, but when the kids when to college the Mom and Dad didn't want me anymore. My foster Mom says I am very sweet and she can't imagine why no one has wanted me for their very own! I am very friendly and my tail wags a lont. I have been training to stay off the furniture and I wouldn't ever dream of taking anything off the table or kitchen counter! I love everyone and would be happy with a single person or a family with kids who want to throw balls and run around. I am totally housebroken and very little trouble. I know people think I am getting old, but I don't think so. I can still run around the yard with the other dogs and I love my walks. If you want to receive an application to adopt me, please e-mail or or call 517.346.6507 and leave your name and address. My mom will send an application in the mail. Unfortunately they can't return your phone calls and they won't call unless you are selected for an interview. They don't have the necessary time to call everyone. I will wait for you!!!

Who We Are

Pets Are Love is run by a group of dedicated volunteers who love dogs and want to help find homes for the needy ones who don't have a family to call their own. All of our dogs are kept in a foster home until they are placed in a permanent home so they can be evaluated and matched with the best family who will be able to make a lifetime commitment. We only place dogs in the Mid-Michigan area.

Adopting a Friend

The first step in the adoption process is to complete a questionnaire about what you are looking for and a little information about yourself that would help us to make the best match. Please call us and we will send you a questionnaire and some further information about our organization or you may e-mail for an application to We no longer host formal "Adoption Days." If your application is approved and we have a dog that we feel matches your family, the foster parent will be in contact with you to make arrangements to conduct a short interview. If you and the foster parent agree to continue the process, an appointment will be arranged for you and the dog to be introduced. Because of the volume of applications we receive, we will not contact you if we are unable to make a match. Your application will be kept on file for 90 days. We have an adoption application and contract, and there is a $175 adoption fee which covers neutering and current medical and heartworm testing.

Volunteering and Donations

Pets Are Love is funded entirely by donations. We do not get any funding from any other agencies or government. We can always use donations of dog food, toys, postage stamps. We always appreciate "sponsors" who help pay medical expenses for our dogs, also. If you would be interested in sponsoring, volunteering, or fostering, please let us know. We would love to talk with you. If you are interested in one of our dogs, please email or phone 571.346.6507 and leave your name and address so an application can be mailed. Thank you!
