About Us

Adopting A Friend

Rescues brought into our program are predominantly strays, abandoned or abused animals in and around our communities. We offer a rescue hotline for the community members to call when they have found an animal, want to surrender an animal or report abuse. We get thousands of calls a year on our line.

As soon as they are rescued, we bring them to one of our four highly qualified vets immediately for assessment, testing, treatment, vaccinations and spay/neutering. We also start them on heartworm preventative and flea/tick preventative.

Once rehabilitated and ready for adoption, we carefully screen perspective adopters interested, complete with an application, interview, vet check and often a home visit in order to find the right fit.

Who We Are

Paws and Claws Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization made up of volunteers who devote and dedicate their love, time, and personal resources 7 days a week, 365 days per year to rescue and care for homeless, abused, and abandoned animals. We do not have a shelter. Our rescue animals are taken in and cared for in our own homes through a network of foster families.

Our Mission

Our mission is to reduce the number of unwanted pets through our Spay and Neuter program by stopping unwanted births and unfortunate deaths of animal offspring. In addition, our goals are:

- promote kindness to animals through education

- protect animals from abuse, neglect, exploitation and over-population

- advocate responsible pet ownership

- assist in the reunion of lost pets with their owners

We are dedicated to caring for homeless pets in our community through adoption, community awareness, fostering and caring for companion animals until forever homes can be found.
