Who We Are

We are Animal Control and the Animal Shelter for entire Garrett County, Marland. We handle approx. 1200 animals a year. Our last years adoption rate was 50% of all adoptable animals, which is fairly good. We hope to do even better this year.

Adopting a friend

There are only a few steps to an adoption made from the Garrett County Animal Shelter. We charge a $15 cat adoption fee and a $30 dog adoption fee. You must sign an agreement that you will 1) take you new pet to your vet witin 7 days for a health check 2)have the rabies vaccination done within 30 days, and 3) have you new pet spayed or neutered within 30 days. We are a mandatory Spay/Neuter shelter. The $15/30 that is paid at the time of adoption will be refunded once the animal has been spayed/neutered.
