Since we receive no federal, state, or local aid, we can only continue with your help.

All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm/lymes tested, fecal done and dewormed before we can adopt them out. MANY of the dogs we take into rescue need more medical attention then others. We spend hundreds, sometimes thousands on some of these dogs. Our veterinary bills are enormous.

The adoption donations we receive don't even begin to cover the cost. We have no paid employees. We are all volunteers that just love animals, so you can be sure your donation is going straight to the care of the dogs. You can make a one time donation or sponsor a pet monthly.

Pits And Rotts For Life Rescue, Inc is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization. All Donations are tax-deductable.

Check Out Lacy

Lacy is about 5-6 yrs old, weighs around 60 lbs, and loves to be with people. She is the most happy go lucky dog you could ever meet, very loveable, kissable, huggable and her tail does not stop wagging.

Lacy seems to love everyone she meets, including cats. She is picky about which dogs she likes, so we would prefer a home without other dogs. She is being fostered in New York

Lacy is up to date on her vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm/lymes tested negative, dewormed, spayed and on heartworm/flea/tick preventative mthly.

What constitutes animal cruelty?

Animal cruelty occurs when someone intentionally injures or harms an animal or when a person willfully deprives an animal of food, water or necessary medical care. Here are some signs that may indicate abuse or neglect:

Tick or flea infestations
Wounds on the body
Patches of missing hair
Extremely thin, starving animal
An owner striking or otherwise physically abusing an animal
Dogs who are repeatedly left alone without food and water, and often chained in a yard
Dogs who have been hit by cars—or are showing any of the signs listed here—and have not been taken to a veterinarian
Dogs who are kept outside without shelter in extreme weather conditions
Animals who cower in fear or act aggressively when approached by their owners

Foster Homes Needed

We are always looking for good people to Foster some of our precious Fur-Babies. By fostering you will be making room for another defenseless, homeless animal who will be saved because YOU have opened your home and your heart. If you would like to Foster one of our wonderful Dogs or puppies, please click here to download our Foster Application.

Please, only fill this application out if you are willing to do this long term. Some of our dogs can be adopted within a months time, some it may take a few months to a year. This is a commitement that cannot be done half way.

If you have any questions about fostering, please contact us at Thank you

Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are ALWAYS needed. We are in need of people helping us to walk the kennel dogs, doing home visits, bookkeeping, phone calls, adoption events and there's plenty more to do. The dogs really enjoy all the company they can get and all the extra time outside in the grass.
If your interested in volunteering to help the dogs in rescue, Please Click Here! They don't ask for much, but they give tons in return.

Owner Surrenders

Prfl Rescue places a priority on taking shelter or abused Pitbulls/Rottweilers or mixes of these. Many times, we have to turn down shelter dogs because we don't have a suitable foster home. For this reason, we only accept owner surrenders if the following conditions are met:

1.) The dog is of sound temperment.
2.) The dog is heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention.
3.) The dog is accompanied by its toys, bedding, crate, food, dishes, registration papers, etc.
4.) The owner is willing to either bring the dog up-to-date on its shots and other necessary medical treatment (alter the dog if not done already) or the owner is willing to pay a surrender fee to cover the costs of altering the dog and bringing it up-to-date on vaccinations.
5.) The owner has made reasonable effort to find a new home or returning to the breeder prior to contacting PRFL.
6.) The owner is willing to hold the dog until a foster home becomes available, or
7.) The owner is willing to pay the costs to board the dog until a foster home becomes available.
8.) If PRFL agrees to take the dog, the owner must sign an Owner Surrender Contract with PRFL.

If you have decided to surrender your Pitbull/Rottweiler/Mix to PRFL, please contact us for the Owner Surrender form. Owner Surrender Fee - $150.00 - $200.00. This depends on what medically we have to do that you haven't done already.

Animal rescuers creed!

I am an Animal Rescuer

My job is to assist God's creatures. I was born with the need to fulfill their needs. I take in new family members without plan, thought or selection. I have bought dog or cat food with my last dime. I have patted a mangy head with a bare hand. I have hugged someone vicious and afraid. I have fallen in love a thousand times and I have cried into the fur of a lifeless body. I have Animal Friends and friends who have animal friends.I don't often use the word "pet." I notice those lost at the road side and my heart aches. I will hand raise a field mouse and make friends with a vulture. I know of no creature unworthy of my time.

I want to live forever if there aren't animals in Heaven, but I believe there are. Why would God make something so perfect and leave it behind? We may be master of the animals, but the animals have mastered themselves-- something people still haven't learned. War and Abuse makes me hurt for the world, but a rescue that makes the news gives me hope for mankind. We are a quiet but determined army, and making a difference every day. There is nothing more necessary than warming an orphan, nothing more rewarding than saving an animals life; No higher recognition than watching them thrive. There is no greater joy than seeing a baby play who only days ago, was too weak to eat.

I am an Animal Rescuer, My work is never done, My home is never quiet. My wallet is always empty, but my heart is always full. In the game of life, we have already won.
