Care - Adopt - Rescue - Educate
Our Furry Friend of the Week
Our friend Ernie, a distinctly colored and patterned blueish silver, black striped Tabby of 1-year. His favorite spot is on his foster Dad's lap so he can nap his time away. Very friendly and chummy, but yet peculiar in nature. He likes to act like he's mad at you, but he doesn't have a mean nature in him. Pet him, stroke him and he'll love you back in kind. He loves taking walks on a leash now, but it's a challenge to get the harness on and off of him. When Ernie was at the Adoption Center he did like meeting people when he was out and about, and he liked to greet people when they entered the adoption center. Ernie was not happy at the Adoption Center so he is now in one of our Foster homes; however an appointment may be scheduled to view him at:

Who We Are
We CARE-4-Paws is a non-profit organization that consist of an awesome bunch of like-minded volunteers who through their loving hands and hearts are making a difference helping our furry friends by supporting the needs of PetSmarts and rescue groups.
We are partnered with Last Chance Animal Rescue (LCAR) who rescues most of our furry friends and is responsible for their health and welfare, to include ensuring their safe delivery to PetSmart Charities Adoption Centers from Maryland to Northern Virginia. As a result of our partnership, we are responsible for the overall management of those PetSmart Charities Adoption Centers partnered with LCAR, which includes but is not limited to: recruiting volunteers and development of PetSmart Charities Adoption Center policy and guidance.
Volunteers are our most valuable assets, and we have personable Volunteer Coordinators to organize well-meaning volunteers into a powerhouse for the animals! Together we are making a real difference!
You will find our volunteers in PetSmart Charities Adoption Centers providing daily routine care to our furry friends, assisting potential adopters and providing useful information to PetSmart customers. Our volunteers are dedicated and committed to ensuring the safety, welfare, and adoption process is a positive one. It is through the generous hearts and hands of our volunteers, we ensure that animals who come into our care will never again be alone, hungry, sick, afraid, or in pain.
