Placing Homeless Dalmatians in Maryland, Virginia, and DC!
Hello! Thank you for visiting us.
Go to our home page www.ccdal.org which has the latest infomation on our available dogs and links to our Application Form, our Wish List, more information on How to Adopt, and a large repository of useful information for all pet owners and about Dalmatians.
CCDAL does not have a shelter. Since all of our pets are fostered in Virginia and Maryland, we limit our placements to Maryland, DC, and Virginia. Prospective adopters first complete an application, then we contact their vet(s) to verify the care of their current and past animals. If the adopter lives in rented property, we contact the landlord to verify that pets the size of a Dalmatian are allowed. If all goes well to this point, the adopter will be invited to meet the dog (or dogs) that they are interested in taking into their family. By meeting the dog in the foster home, you will have the opportunity to observe the dog in a familiar environment and ask any questions you might have by talking to the family members that know the dog best. We will make a home visit to be sure that your environment is suitable to the dog before final placement. Go to our home page www.ccdal.org, and click on the "Application" link at the top of the page to get the process started.
The Chocolate Chip Dalmatian Assistance League is an all-volunteer, non-profit, 501(c)3 organization dedicated to helping unwanted, abandoned, abused, and/or neglected Dalmatians and Dalmatian mixes find loving permanent homes. We evaluate the dogs’ temperaments, foster the Dalmatians in our homes, bring them up to date on vet care, spay or neuter, and provide socialization.
The first step in our adoption process is completing the application form available on our website. In order to do the best possible placements for the Dalmatians in our care, we limit our adoptions to Maryland, D.C., and Virginia.
We generally do not take in owner relinquishments for foster, but will assist the owners in finding a new home by posting their Dalmatian on our web site if they will continue to physically and financially support their dog until an appropriate, permanent home is located.
