Adoptions

Strays change daily, so click below to see a list of what animals are available for adoption. We will keep this list as updated as possible.

Click here to see our adoptables!

Adoption fees are $165.00 for all dogs and $110.00 for cats.
All of our adopted animals are spayed or neutered, up to date on their vaccinations, blood tested, and microchipped.
Any dog being adopted over the age of 6 months must also obtain a dog license.

Dog Licenses

Dog Licenses are available at the Westfield Animal Shelter (178 Apremont Way, Westfield). Massachusetts General Law (MGL) requires that all dogs over 6 months of age be licensed yearly. Dog licenses are also a great means of identification and can be traced 24 hours a day 7 days a week by either Animal Control or the Police Department.
License costs are $15.00 for dogs that have been spayed or neutered, or $30.00 if they are not.
Please bring proof of a current rabies vaccine and proof of neutering or spaying with you when licensing your dog.

Per MGL Chapter 140 and the City of Westfield's ordinances, if your dog has been picked up by Animal Control, you must show proof of a current rabies vaccine and a current city dog license to claim your dog from the shelter.

Lost Pets

If you have lost a pet, please call the animal control office as soon as possible at 413.564.3129 . Stray dogs are held at the shelter for 7 days. There is no legal hold period for stray cats. We generally hold stray cats for 3 days before moving forward with adoptions. Owners will be responsible to pay fines/fees associated with the the impoundment of their animal.
