In order to be considered for adoption you must: Be 18 years of age or older, Present a Valid ID with your current address(No student ID's) Have your landlord's name and phone number OR have proof of home ownership (tax bill, water bill or mortgage statement) Have up-to-date veterinary records for any current pets, or your veterinarian's name and phone number. Bring along all members of the household to meet the pet, including children. Complete an application, complete a cori form check, and interview with adoption personnel.
All dogs are $200 to adopt. This includes the spay/neuter, heartworm combo test, rabies vaccine, parvo distemper vaccine and a physical with a veterinarian. All cats are $120 to adopt. This includes the spay/neuter, feline combo test, rabies vaccine, parvo distemper vaccine and a physical with a veterinarian.
The Fairhaven Animal Shelter is also the home of Fairhaven Animal Control. The shelter depends soley on the help of it's volunteers to keep the shelter open to the public during our business so that people may come in and find their new best friend. Our volunteers also are responsible for keeping our beautiful shelter clean and maintained, for exercising and socializing our animals, and assisting the public with meeting our pets. If you think you would like to join our team of volunteers please come in and speak with one of our angels and ask them about thier work here and if it sound like something you would like to be part of then fill out a volunteer application and a cori background check. you must be at least 16 years old to volunteer.
