Who We Are

Broken Tail Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based rescue organization dedicated to the rescue of unwanted and abandoned animals in urgent need. We work closely with local animal controls, animal shelters and rescue groups to ensure the placement of these forgotten animals.

Adopting a friend from Broken Tail Rescue

In order to adopt an animal from us, you must first fill out an application. The foster family will then set up a telephone interview to determine if you are a good match for the animal you have applied for. The next step is for you to meet with the animal and the foster family. Then we will check your references and do a home visit at your house before finalizing the adoption.

You must be atleast 21 years of age to adopt from Broken Tail Rescue.

Our Adoption Donations

Adoption donations help defray the cost of transportation, care, and medical treatment.

Our adoption donation is generally between $300 - $400 for most adult dogs and puppies and is decided on a case by case basis.

All dogs adopted from Broken Tail Rescue will be spayed or nuetered, receive a veterinary exam, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, fecal exam, given flea and tick preventive as needed, and microchipped.

Our adoption donation varies by age for cats and kittens.

Kitten up to 4 months of age: $200
Kitten 4 months - 1 year: $130
Cats 1 year and older: $100
Exotic breeds: $150
Special needs cats: $50 - $75

All cats adopted from Broken Tail Rescue will be spayed or nuetered, recieve a veterinary exam, up to date on vaccinations, FeLV/FIV tested, dewormed, given flea and tick prevenative as needed, and microchipped.

Please help us save more cats & dogs!

Broken Tail Rescue needs your help to raise money to provide medical care to our animals. Often cats and dogs come into the rescue without being vaccinated or spayed/nuetered. In addition to routine vetting we often help animals with medical issues that will need expensive vet care before they can be placed for adoption. If you make a monetary donation of any size we will be greatly appreciative.
