Brockton Animal Control Dept

Who We Are

All stray dogs are held for a mandatory period of 10 days for an owner to reclaim their pet. If the animal is left unclaimed, the department of animal control will perform behavioral evaluations based on the shelter dog assessment models structured and supported by the animal behaviorist community's consensus. Anyone with interest in dogs posted by our agency should express interest directly to our office via phone. Due to low adoption traffic and high intake, we often are securing unclaimed adoptable dogs into placement with partner groups (other rescue/shelter organizations) if a prospective adopter expresses interest in a given animal before we secure placement or complete transfer with another group, we may process and approve the adoption. Requirements to adopt are: Completed adoption application & must be 18 years of age. All applications are reviewed and the appropriate home is picked based on the discretion of Animal Control. Adoption Fees are as follows: $50 Altered. $90 Unaltered. Please call 508.580.7835 with any questions or find us on Facebook at
