Sammy is our featured dog. He has been in foster care for quite some time now, and would love to move on to his forever home. Sammy needs an experienced greyhound adopter.
Greyhound Options Inc. is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation dedicated to the responsible placement of retired racing greyhounds. We are based in Western MA with active placement representatives in Northern CT and all of MA. Visit our website for a list of our placement reps, and to read about our adoption process. We ask for a $275 adoption donation to help defray a portion of the expenses we incur for each dog we place. Obviously, we pay out hundreds (sometimes thousands) of dollars on each dog, and we rely on our fundraisers throughout the year to recoup the difference. If you would like to make a donation to help our cause, we will gladly accept a monitary donation, as well as merchandise and time.
Because we require a home visit, and all of our Placement Representatives are so generously volunteering their time and vehicle expenses, we place dogs with adopters in our local area only. If you live outside Massachusetts or northern Connecticut, please see the Greyhound Project's Adoption Agency Directory to locate a Greyhound placement agency near you.
Please see our website for the latest on the next upcoming events or email us.
We have 6 monthly meet and greets at pet supply stores within our adoption area. Attending meet and greets is a wonderful way to meet Greyhounds (both adopted and foster dogs) and talk to adopters. You can also gather information and ask questions. Meet and greet times and locations are listed on our website in our events section. Our locations include: Agawam, Andover, East Longmeadow, Holyoke & Pittsfield, MA and Enfield, CT. You may contact us for directions, or locate stores through mapquest.
