We would love new beds for our doggies! If you would like to make a donation on the shelter's behalf via the secure website please visit www.animalrescueaid.org and click on donate.
Animal Rescue Aid offers shelters/rescue groups, the opportunity to secure Pet Beds (medium and even large sizes) for only $22.50 each (they get them directly from the manufacturer!). They also offer their National Pet Crate Donation Program where shelters/rescue groups can purchase 42” Crates (with 3-DOORS & A METAL PAN) for just $85 and/or their supporters can “chip in” to donate a Pet Crate on their behalf. In both cases, Animal Rescue Aid covers all the shipping costs (in the contiguous USA).
Not ready to adopt? Consider fostering, it's a very rewarding way to give back and give a dog a second chance and more time while they continue their search for their forever home. Yes, it may be hard when it's time for the dog to go to their new home or rescue, but you can feel good knowing that if it were not for you, he or she may never have found their new family.
If you can't adopt or foster, please consider sponsoring a dog by paying his/her adoption fee. When you sponsor a dog, it will be given the same vet care as a dog getting adopted and will be ready to go when his or her furever family finally finds them.
We can not make any guarantees on any of our dogs' temperament, health or age. We are not veterinarians or animal behaviorists and anything mentioned about the dogs are what we ourselves have witnessed or the previous owner has told us.
Thank you for considering a shelter dog, and remember, don't shop, ADOPT!
We are a small rural shelter in Henry County with a small staff given the responsibility of 2 counties. We work very hard and do our best to try to find homes and rescues for all our adoptable dogs. We are rescue friendly and encourage people to visit our dogs and foster them, we always love having volunteers.
Visiting our animals is always so much better than just viewing their pictures online. Come by and take a couple doggies for a walk to see if you make that all important connection. If your new potential furry family member will have another furry brother or sister, you are more than welcome to bring them with you to see if everyone will get along. Please remember and take into consideration that we have a small staff and are very busy so it may have been awhile since a dog's last walk and they may be a little excited. Also, the shelter environment can be very stressful for some dogs, so they may be scared, but all they need is a home where they will know constant love and affection and you could be the one to give them that. We are located about 30 minutes from Louisville, KY up I-71 North.
