Who We Are
Kentucky Animal Relief Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2001, is a small network of volunteers committed to the rescue and comprehensive care of homeless senior dogs. Overlooked and undervalued, seniors stand little to no chance of adoption and are left to face illness, loneliness, confusion and eventual death at the most vulnerable time in their lives.
All dogs rescued by our organization receive necessary veterinary care, including, but not limited to, bloodwork evaluation, heartworm test and treatment if needed, diagnostic x-rays, dental care, growth removal/biopsies, spay/neuter, required vaccines, and any necessary medications. Our goal is to maximize quality of life of the dogs in our care and to place every reasonably healthy, adoptable dog in a screened and approved permanent home. Unadopted dogs remain in the care of Kentucky Animal Relief Fund for the remainder of their lives.
We sincerely thank you for considering one of our dogs for adoption. We do our best to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog. In doing so, we reserve the right to deny any applicant for any reason. Our only consideration is the safety and well-being of the dogs in our care. We will do out of state adoptions to screened and approved homes.
Our Adoption Process includes:
The following are our adoption requirements. Exceptions are unlikely but may be considered on a case by case basis.

Our Featured Friend
Meet Daisy. She is a 10 year old, 6 pound, spayed, female Chihuahua who came into our rescue from a rural shelter in KY, where she was taken after her owner died.
Daisy is a very special little girl with quite an amazing and inspirational story.
To learn more about her and to see before and after videos, just click on our Adoptable Pet List at the top of this page, or contact us at KyAnimalRelief@gmail.com
Meeting the Dogs
Our dogs live in individual foster homes so we do not have a permanent shelter facility. Once your adoption application has been approved, arrangements will be made for you to meet the dog you are interested in adopting.
How You Can Help
