When calling, always make sure to leave a message with your name, number, and any other information.  This is essential to returning your call with the most helpful information possible.

Lost an animal?  Contact us for help with finding it.  People are more than welcome and encouraged to bring flyers to the shelter to post.  We are also able to post pictures and information of your lost animal online.

Volunteer groups with prior approval are greatly welcomed and appreciated!  Call to set up a date to volunteer with your group.  We will do our best to accommodate your group.  We have to have time to set everything up before the actual event to make arrangements to have the proper staff and to verify everything with our insurance since we are privately owned.

Adopting A Friend

We now have a wide range of dogs and cats available for adoption!

Our goal is to find forever homes for as many animals as possible.  Our adoption policy is very simple and is open to any person interested in an animal. The adoption fee for dogs is $75. The adoption fee for cats varies depending on whether they have been altered with unaltered cats being $30. These fees applies to every dog, despite their age, breed, etc. This fee includes a voucher with Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society for spay/neuter and rabies vaccination. The appointment will be made at the time of adoption. The adoption fee may vary if the animal has been sponsored (possibly making it less) or if they have outstanding vet bills (possibly making it higher).  Before completing an adoption, a photo ID must be present.  Along with the photo ID, please be prepared with the number of the vet you have been or will be using.  We will contact them prior to completion of the adoption.

The adoption fee is strictly used to fund the adoptable animals and their time at the shelter.  It is the only funding for our adoption program.  For more information, feel free to contact the shelter at 270.286.6096 and leave a message if we don't answer.

Who We Are

The shelter is owned and operated by Greg and Kim Carroll with the help of their family and a friend or two. The shelter officially opened in January 1, 2007 as the Edmonson County Animal Shelter. Throughout the past few years the shelter has grown to house animals from Hart County, Grayson County, and recently Metcalfe County.  The shelter is constantly working adding and improving the building and the services provided.  Since it's opening there has been a spay/neuter program started and has built a relationship with Thomas Vet Clinic in Smith's Grove.  We reccommend that you contact Dr. Thomas and his staff for any of your vet needs at 270.563.0011.  They have been very helpful to this shelter and have proven to go to their limits to try to be helpful when they possibly can.
