Who We Are:
In April 2015 The Humane Society of the Flint Hills assumed management of the Emporia Animal Shelter. We have increased staff and the number of volunteers while decreasing the percentage of euthanasia since 2015. We Care About Animals (and we know you do too) There are plenty of ways you can get involved in helping us continue looking after the animals in our community. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact us.
The Humane Society of the Flint Hills is a not for profit organization based out of Emporia Kansas and serving a seven county area in the east central region of the state. We serve the East Central Region of Kansas that includes seven counties that include Lyon and the adjoining six. We support the humane treatment of all animals. Our goal is creating a better awareness of their importance in our lives and to treat them with respect and kindness.

*Properly feed and maintain the health of your new pet, including regular vaccinations and medical treatment when necessary.
*Care for your new pet for its ENTIRE lifetime, making sure that your commitment will be steady through any changes in your lifestyle or circumstances. Our adoption process is designed to help ensure that you and your adopted pet will have a happy life together. Prior to adoption we will:
*If a landlord is involved, we will verify that they will allow your new pet on their property. If you agree to this, then the first step in our process is filling out our application.
