If you are interested in fostering, please go to to complete the on-line foster application. We pay for all medical, food, toys, and will provide you with a crate and xpen if you need it. Foster Care is critical to our rescuing efforts. The more foster homes we have, the more babies we can save. The Foster Care Program through Angels On Wheels is needed for animals rescued from high kill shelters needing temporary homes. These animals just need a place to lay their heads until their forever family is found. Becoming a foster parent is a very rewarding experience, and can be a lot of fun. Anyone can be a foster mom, even if you work full time. Every animal requires different needs, and all you need is a love for animals and a heart to help. We will try match you with a foster that works with your schedule, housing set-up and current pet situation. You can check out our website at, then click on the fostering animals tab for more specific information.

We are a foster-based adoption organization composed of a group of animal loving volunteers dedicated to finding and saving animals from death row and giving them a second chance for life. All of our animals are cared for in loving foster homes until a forever family is found.

News: Any person serving our country in the military, firemen and policemen will all receive $25.00 off any adoption...please support our heroes. Seniors adopting seniors receive a $25.00 discount.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Most of our animals come from high kill shelters, and breed along with size at maturity is only a guess.

Our animals get socialized within their fosters and are usually around other dogs, cats and children. We will indicate in the pet's profile if the foster home doesn't have younger children or other animals. Our rescued animals will make great companions that you will enjoy for their entire lives. All of our adoptable babies are housed indoors to ensure they become well adapted animal is kept outdoors.

Adopting a friend: Our adoption process asks you to complete an Adoption Application PRIOR to visiting with dogs, puppies, cats or kittens in our foster homes which can be found on our website at You will need a valid driver's license, have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household, landlord approval if you rent via, lease or a phone call, proof of residency if you own (i.e., tax bill/deed/mortgage bill and recent utility bill), all pets must be current on rabies shots and registered as mandated by law, a home visit may be required, and your new pet must be examined by a vet within the first five days. Our Partner Vets are Crest Hill Cat and Dog Clinic, Yorkville Animal Hospital, Springbrook Animal Hospital, Naperville Animal Hospital, Oswego Animal Hospital, and Glen Ellyn Animal Hospital. You will receive a voucher for a free vet visit free for any one of those mentioned vets. All of the animals in the home must be spayed and neutered in order to adopt. You must be over the age of 23 to adopt, and an adoption application is required prior to meeting any of our animals. If you are gone 6+ hours a day, a puppy is probably not the right fit for you. Puppies need to be socialized very young and often in order for them to grow to be wonderful adults. Crating a puppy during the evening hours while sleeping then again all day while you are at work, is not good for a puppy, especially since they pea very often. We have the right to refuse any applicant/adopter at anytime for any reason at any time.

Pet Vaccine and Medical Records are always provided with your adoption along with a leash and collar for dogs. All of the adoptions include spaying/neutering, microchip, up to date on routine vaccinations, deworming, treated for any external parasites, treated for internal parasites, heart worm tested age appropriate and heart worm treated if needed, rabies vaccination age appropriate, along with any other medical needs, free vet visit though one of our participating vets. If an animal is too young to be fixed, they will be adopted under a spay/neuter contract. We ask for $100.00 fully refundable spay/neuter deposit. We do not cash the check, but hold it to assure it's done. Once the spay/neuter is done, we void the check. You will also receive a free spa/neuter coupon with a list of our participating vets so have the procedure done when the pet is old enough.
