Our Featured Pet...

BOOMER!

I am the perfect dog - I love kids, cats, other dogs... you name it! I am housebroke as long as I am let out evey 2-3 hours - unless I am in my crate. I am crate trained for nighttime and when my foster parents go to work. Right now, I live at a foster family with 4 other dogs and 2 cats. I need a home preferably with another dog for me to play with and a yard to run in. I am always full of energy!! I cannot be adopted until I am neutered. I am a beagle mix and I am under a year old.

Who We Are

We are a group of people in Lawrence County that are trying to help animals! As simple as that!
Our mission:
* Establish and maintain a shelter/haven for rescued, abandoned and abused animals of all descriptions in Lawrence County and will make every effort to maintain a no-kill philosophy.
* Promote humane care, treatment, and proper vetting of all animals needing protection in Lawrence County.
* Promote the adoption of rescued, abandoned or abused animals in Lawrence County to find them forever homes.
* Save and place as many animals as possible.
* Promote spay-neuter in Lawrence County in order to help alleviate the overpopulation of unwanted pets.

Adopting a friend

We do not adopt our animals to be used in any capacity other than a pet - we do not adopt our beagles out to hunt, etc. We want our animals to go to homes that plan on keeping the animal inside and that also has a yard, preferably fenced in, for the animal to exercise. We do home visits before we adopt our animals out. If you do not like this fact, then adopt from someone else. We want the best homes for our animals. Most of them have came from abusive homes where they were either caged up or chained up outside and forgotten about. We are VERY against any animal living this way, and we will do everything in our power to ensure that our animals do not ever have to live this way again. We also have an adoption contract that you have to sign in order to adopt one of our animals. The contract states the following verbatim:

I agree to the following:
0 I will keep this animal inside
0 I have a fenced in yard or big area for dog to run
0 I will keep the appointment set up by ARLC to get the animal spayed/neutered (if not already done)
0 I will bring animal back to ARLC if it doesnít work out
0 I will keep regular vet appointments and vaccinations, etc. up to date
0 Provide pictures to follow up and have ARLC member visit my home to check the animalís status and have proof of veterinarian care
*If ARLC finds out that these conditions are not being met, I forfeit my right to this animal and it will be returned to ARLC.

Sorry everyone if this sounds strict or over the top, but we believe animals deserve these things and only want to adopt to people who feel the same way!

Come Visit Us!

As of now, we do not have a facility. Our animals live at foster homes. If you are interested in any of our adoptable pets, please contact us and we will set up an appointment at the location of the animal.
