Have you considered adopting a pair but aren't sure if it is right for you? Pairs are a wonderful option for potential adopters! Contrary to popular belief, they do not bond less to their human companions, do not cost twice as much to care for, and do not require twice the supplies.
Many pairs are used to sharing food and waters bowls, as well as litter boxes, especially if you adopt littermates.
Pairs are often very affectionate with their humans. Some even "trade" time and "responsibilities" such as sleeping with and watching TV with their person or people.
While you may have twice the bill when it comes to vaccinations, many vets do not require two samples from the litterbox annually and some even offer discounts for multiple pets.
If you are considering a pair, stop by the shelter and let us show you why two can certainly be better than one!
CatNap does not have our adoption application available outside of the shelter. We have a brief adoption application that only takes a minute or two to fill out when you come in to meet potential pets. We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have regarding availability of certain animals or with questions regarding our adoption policies. CatNap does host several outside adoption events every month so watch our facebook page for event listings. With more than 100 cats and kittens in the shelter, we are sure to have what would work best for your household--let us match you with the perfect companion.
Please allow at least 30 minutes to complete an adoption (i.e. do not come in at 5 min to closing expecting to leave with an animal).
We often have adoption specials, but our general adoption fees are as follows:
Cats: $100, $150 for a pair
Kittens: $125, $175 for a pair
Guinea pigs: $15, $25 for a pair
Founded in 1997, CatNap started as a boarding facility. After 9/11, when traveling came to a screeching halt, we were forced to revamp our business model and decided to go for our 501(c)3 and pursue more seriously doing adoptions. With more than 30 years of experience between our staff, we pride ourselves on matching the right pet with the right home. We never euthanize for cage space and are available for support throughout the lifetime of your pet.
