Who We Are

The Kankakee County Humane Foundation, a 501(c)3, is comprised of volunteers who have been dedicated to the needy and helpless animals in our community for the last 15 years. We are one of a few rescue groups that function solely on volunteers and donations.  We do not have a brick and mortar facility.  Our pets are in foster homes and thus an appointment is necessary to view any of our great pets. The assistance that we provide includes: humane investigations to help stop animal abuse; low-cost or free spay/neuter services; temporary foster care; veterinary care for animals in need; school programs on pet safety; and adoption fairs to place pets in loving homes. All of these services are provided through donations and fundraisers coordinated by our volunteers.
