Who We Are

Boise Bully Breed Rescue is proud to announce that the rescue has officially become a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, which means the rescue is dependent on generous tax deductible donations from you. The new status will offer the rescue opportunities to expand and provide funding for medical, training and boarding needs. It has been an amazing year of growth and thanks to everyone that is reading this now. You are and have been an integral part of that growth which will allow the abandoned, abused and abandoned shelter dogs a change at life. Our volunteers are devoted to rehoming unwanted bully breed dogs from Idaho shelters. We strive to place the best representatives of the breed into foster and adoptive homes that are capable of providing adequate care and training. We encourage Pit Bull owners and lovers to unite to present a positive image of the breed and to clarify the controversy of negative press and stereotyping. Our mission is to educate the public regarding bully breeds, promote responsible pet ownership, promote spay and neuter programs, assist owners with re-homing their unwanted bully breed dogs, and advocate against breed specific legislation and the inhumane activity of dog fighting. All donations will be used for training, boarding and medical expenses.

Our Foster Program

Boise Bully Breed Rescue accepts bully breed dogs from Idaho shelters. We recruit foster homes for these dogs. Our goal is to socialize the dogs, provide them with a loving home, security and stability. Foster families provide us with feedback regarding the dogs behavior, characteristics, and the type of home they recommend the dog should be permanently placed in. If you are fond of this misunderstood breed and can provide a temporary foster home for bully ambassadors please submit a foster application

Adopt-A-Bull Breed Ambassadors

All of our breed ambassadors have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated. A certified dog trainer is available to assist adopters and foster parents with training questions or behavior problems.

How you can help

Volunteers and foster families are needed. We gratefully accept donations of new or used dog toys, blankets, collars/leashes, kennel/crates and food. If you would like to make a donation please email us at

The term "Pit Bull"

Pit bull is a term commonly used to describe several breeds of dogs including the American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, and Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and dogs with similar characteristics of these breeds; however, a few also classify the American Bulldog and Bull Terrier as a "pit bull-type dog."

Come Visit Us!

Volunteer foster homes care for our dogs until their adoption. Click on the pictures for additional information regarding the dog you are interested in and the foster parents contact information and a description of the dog is available. Boise Bully Breed Rescue does not accept strays or owner surrender dogs. If you find a stray please contact your local shelter and file a FOUND report. The shelter is one of the first places an owner will look for a dog. If you are an owner and want to rehome your dog, please reconsider!
