Our Featured Pets...
Adopt a Friend for Life!
We have lots of super cats and kittens who deserve new homes! Sometimes adopting one (or two) adult cats is the ideal way to reduce your stress and add some love to your life. Come by and meet some of our sweethearts!
Rescued pets are great!
Our pets are already spayed or neutered, tested for diseases, vaccinated, and microchipped before leaving for their new homes.
If your pet needs "fixing," we can help! Stop the pet over-population in our area by having your pet spayed or neutered. Call us about our low-cost spay/neuter program!

New Volunteer Orientation is typically held the 1st Saturday of every month at our Pet Center at 10 a.m. Volunteers under 18 years old must have a parent or legal guardian attend orientation and remain with them during their volunteer time for their safety.
We also have a monthly meeting for members and the general public, held the second Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. at our Pet Center. Join others who want to make a difference for homeless pets in our community by attending a monthly meeting or volunteering! Call us for details at (706) 261-7387.
Who We Are
The CSRA (Central Savannah River Area) Humane Society serves the greater Augusta, GA area. We're licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture. We find new homes for pets whose guardians can no longer care for them, and we provide education to our community about humane, responsible treatment of all animals. We receive no funding from local or state governments; nor do we receive money from any national humane groups. We rely on community support to run our no-kill pet shelter. For tax purposes, we are designated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
***Secure online tax-deductible donations can be made with your PayPal account or a major credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express). All proceeds go directly towards the care of our shelter pets.***
Adopting a Friend
Adopters can visit our Pet Center to look at our available pets and speak with an adoption counselor who is familiar with the needs of each individual pet. The potential adopter completes an application. We may need to check references, vet records, landlord approval, or do a home visit. Once we can determine that the pet selected is an appropriate match for the home environment, the pet can go home! (Most of the time, pets go home the same day.)
Adoption fees: cats/kittens: $125; dogs/puppies: $125 - $175. This is a bargain considering all pets are spayed or neutered before adoption, they are current on shots, tested, on monthly preventatives, microchipped, etc. (Also covers first year of microchip registration.)
