Our Adoptable Pet List

New Rattitude, Inc., is a national all-volunteer rescue group for Rat Terriers and Rat Terrier mixes. We provide temporary foster homes for abandoned, abused, neglected, sick, or unwanted Rat Terriers, where they are loved and nurtured while we work diligently to find them permanent adoptive homes so they will be safe, loved, and properly and humanely cared for the rest of their lives. New Rattitude is a 501(c)3 non-profit charity, incorporated and licensed in Georgia, but serving the entire United States.

Let us help you find a loving lifetime companion!  Click on Our Adoptable Pet List to see profiles of our adoptable dogs. If you see a dog that interests you, please visit our New Rattitude website, where you will find a description of our Adoption process, answers to Frequently Asked Questions about adoption, and an adoption application. If you have problems, you can contact our Adoption Team by emailing

Our adoption fee is $175 for adult dogs or $225 for puppies under 6 months old. Each New Rattitude dog is spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, wormed, heartworm tested, and current on monthly heartworm preventative. Each dog comes with a martingale (safety) collar plus an ID tag printed with a unique identifying number and our toll-free Lost Dog Hotline.

To Find Out More About A Dog: Please do not email us to ask if a dog is available. We update our pet list multiple times per day, so the info on this page is as current as we have. It is always possible that a dog already has submitted applications, but a great number of those do not proceed to an approved adoption, so if you are interested in a dog, your best bet is to let our Adoption Team know of your interest by clicking here to submit an adoption application. When we receive an application, we will put you in touch with the dog's foster parent, who is the one in best position to answer your detailed questions. PLEASE NOTE: New Rattitude dogs are located in private fosterhomes around the country, so it's not possible to simply "drop by."  To find out more about our adoption process, please visit

Our volunteers are working hard to make a difference in the lives of needy Rat Terriers across the country. Unfortunately, our resources don't cover all of the needs that we see on a daily basis. If you are able to help us by volunteering, becoming a fosterhome, or donating, your support would be gladly welcomed! Here are some ways you can help:

>> Donating<<

Cash donations go directly to pay for veterinary expenses for our rescued dogs. Since we are an all-volunteer organization with minimal overhead, 100% of your donation goes directly to care for the dogs. ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX-DEDUCTIBLE! To donate, send check or money order to: New Rattitude, PO Box 14064, Lansing, MI 48901. Or donate via Paypal by clicking on the button below.

If you cannot donate cash, there are other ways you can help us raise money so that we can save even more Rat Terriers. You can:
GOODSEARCH for "New Rattitude" as your charity of choice. Then every time you do an Internet search, we earn a penny!
GOODSHOP for "New Rattitude" as your charity of choice. Then when you shop on-line with any of the listed merchants, we get a small percentage without your having to pay any extra!
IGIVE or ISEARCH for "New Rattitude" since we are registered there, too!

>> Volunteering <<

Our network can always use more volunteers! We ALWAYS need reliable fosterhomes. We also need people to help with temporary dog-sitting, transports, home visits, follow-up calls, applications processing, fund-raising, publicity, etc. If you have a little time to give, this is a very rewarding endeavor. Please find out more about our volunteer opportunities on our website by clicking here. If you have difficulties, you can email us at

>> Letting Us Know of Dogs in Need <<

If you know of a Rat Terrier in a desperate situation needing rescue, please let us know! Email us at and give us as much detail as possible, including the dog's location (city/state) and a physical description.

If you are needing to surrender your own Rat Terrier, please inquire about our ReHome program by emailing us at with your location (city/state), the dog's picture, and a description of your situation.
