Tampa Bay House Rabbit Society

Our Pet List

Pet Posting Policy

We will assist you in finding a home for your rabbit by posting a description of the rabbit and picture of the rabbit on Petfinder. Please email a description and picture to tbhrs@tampabay.rr.com, as well as full contact information. Please note that it can take several months to find a good home for a rabbit. If you have a deadline that is less than two weeks away (for example, you are moving) we will be unable to guarantee placement on the website.

Who We Are

We are part of the national organization known as the House Rabbit Society. We are a non-profit, all-volunteer organization. Check out our national website at www.rabbit.org
Our activities include foster care for rescued rabbits, finding homes for unwanted rabbits, and educating the public on house rabbit care. We do not take rabbits from the public into our foster homes.

Come Visit Us!

We do not have a shelter. Instead, we have a network of foster homes in the Tampa Bay area. Our foster homes are currently full. For more information on our organization, please check out our main web site at www.TampaBayHRS.org

If you have to find a home for your rabbit, here are some tips:
Spay or neuter your rabbit prior to adoption to prevent unwanted litters.
Charge $15 or $20 for your rabbit to ensure that the person is committed (and not just looking for a meal for their snake!).
Make sure the rabbit will live indoors, as part of the family.
Make up flyers to hang in local veterinarian's offices.
Avoid schools, families with children under the age of 10, and anyone who doesn't have the time or financial resources to care for your rabbit.
