Make a Difference and Become A Foster

We are limited in what we can do by the number of homes we have available, so please consider applying to foster or volunteer in any way you can. We rely on loving homes to keep the animals safe until we find permanent homes. Foster parents take animals that are scheduled to be put to death at Animal Services and work to find loving homes for them. So many of the animals at Animal Services deserve to live; if you agree to become a foster parent, you will be saving a life while enriching your own. The rewards of being a foster parent are many. They include offering an animal a second chance and the added benefit of receiving the love and attention right back from the animal you nurture.

A foster parent provides a temporary home dogs in need. The length of fostering can vary from a few days to several months depending on the amount of care or behavioral modification that is needed. The devotion and care given during this time allows the animal a second chance to be adopted by a loving home. Dogs flourish in foster environments and learn how to live in a home as a cherished family member.

Without the additional time and care provided by temporary foster families, many of the dogs would be euthanized. Once you meet our Adopt-A-Bulls and answer any questions you have about the Foster Program we promise you will want to participate. Please contact us at Fosters@orlandobullyrescue.com

While in our care, our rescued animals receive behavioral training emphasizing positive reinforcement. We provide for any medical needs that are necessary to make our rescued pets healthy and adoptable, including monthly heart worm medication and flea prevention.

We would love to have you be part of the wonderful experience and feel the rewards of caring for homeless animals in our community.

Adopting A Friend

Adoption Process

Our adoption process starts with you completing an Orlando Bully Rescue (OBR) Adoption Application, which we ask you to complete and send back electronically to OBR as soon as possible.

Upon receipt of the Orlando Bully Rescue Adoption Application, OBR will review your application within 24 hours and contact you via phone or email to discuss your application and next steps.

Meet & Greet Process

Upon review and your Orlando Bully Rescue Adoption Application being approved we will schedule a time for you and your family to meet one or more of OBR’s adopt-a-bulls. If you have a dog(s) we require you to bring them to the meet and greet, so we can introduce the dogs (i.e. we do a pack walk, on leash, then off leash)

Upon concluding the meet and greet we always ask the family to take at least 24 hours to get back to us with a decision, we do not proceed with decision made on the spot, we still ask for applicants to follow-up with Orlando Bully Rescue within a 24 hours time period or longer if necessary.

Home Visit

The next step after a meet and greet if you wish to proceed with the adoption process is scheduling a home visit. This is when a member of the Orlando Bully Rescue will schedule time to come to meet you and your family at your home. This is the final step in the adoption process, and at this time a final decision is made. If you chose to adopt you could have your new family member home with you and your family within the next couple of days.
