Wyatt has received Certificates of Appreciation from our local County, City and Animal Welfare League for his work here in Wauchula Florida. Wyatt went to speak at Zolfo Springs Elementary School where the kids saved and donated their change to help animals in need. The money donated by the school children helped save 3 dogs ! He was also featured in the March Issue of Reader's Digest and "Your Dog" published by Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. A GREAT BIG THANKS to all who support him and his efforts. He was a finalist in The American Humane Association's 'Be Kind To Animals' Kids Contest. He now has several friends in Korea he communicates with by email. LOOK for the Jan. issue of Family Circle; Wyatt will be featured in it as being honored with their 5th annual Hallo Award 'Kids who make a difference'. Wyatt has been sent a digital camera! Now his dog’s pictures are on his page. THANKS JOAN!!!

Who We Are

Wyatt started his rescues in late Dec. 2000. He couldn't stand the thought of so many dogs being put to sleep. At just 9 years old he decided to do something about it. He talked with Dr. Ross Hendry at Pet Care Center and he agreed to spay or neuter any of Wyatts adoption for free. He also agreed rabies shots would only be $5.00. With the help of Animal Control and Doc Hendry, Wyatt has saved 190 dogs and even 20 cats. Wyatt started with his X-mas, tooth fairy and report card monies. He sometimes knows little about the dog he adopts, except that it was going to be put to sleep. Most every dog he gets has a big red E on it's ID card for Extermination. He gives every dog he can adopt a chance at at finding their 'forever home'. Wyatt is now 12 years old and really making a difference in his neck of the woods.

Adopting a friend

Wyatt asks for a donation with every adoption. This donation helps him adopt more dogs, pay medical bills, buy food and help with housing for his dogs. Contact him and he will inform you on his adoption process. All donations should be made payable to 'Wyatt's Ruff Rescues' PO Box 52 Wauchula, Fl, 33873. Bear's World is a non-profit organization and sponsors Wyatt's Ruff Rescues. You will receive a receipt for tax purposes.
