The Georgetown Shelter is having Kitten Kamp. We have kittens, lots and lots of kittens, including some as young as 8 weeks. Come check them out in the free roaming room where they are having a blast. We have long haired and short haired kitties. And coats of many colors. And they are all super cute! Come on in and pick one out if you can provide a loving forever home. Adoption fee includes: spay/neutering, microchip, initial shots, FeLV FIV test, worming.

The SPCA is has some wonderful cats that have been there for a long time (over a year in some cases). There are many adult cats who are loving, laid back felines ready to share their lives with you. They are house-trained cats who are well settled and aren't about to climb your drapes or terrorize your dog. Kittens certainly are sweet but adopting an adult has many advantages. You know what you are getting since their personalities are already formed and ready for you to see. All cats are neutered and ready for great homes. Check out their pictures on the website and please come in and meet them for yourself.

In these tough economic times, more and more family pets are ending up in shelters. Please help the SPCA help make their stay here as pleasant as possible with donations of the following:
*Canned cat and dog food
*Kuranda beds
*fleece blankets
*kitten chow
*dog and cat toys

The SPCA offers low cost spaying and neutering at this facility. The fees for dogs and cats vary. Please call for current price schedule. Please note that you may be eligible for financial assistance if you are a resident of the State of Delaware and can provide proof that you receive SSI, General Assistance, SS Disability, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Food Stamps, Medicaid, or WIC. Please stop by the SPCA for an application or call them at 302-856-6361 for more information.
Who We Are The Delaware SPCA is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to the elimination of animal cruelty, neglect and overpopulation by providing services for people and their companion animals since 1873. We do not receive state or county funding, and there is no national SPCA. We rely solely on local donations to carry on our work for the animals. The original building that houses the DE SPCA - Sussex Chapter was built in 1973. Donations are gratefully accepted!

Adopting a friend

All dog and cat adoptions through the Delaware SPCA include neutering, microchipping, a free wellness exam through a participating veterinarian and initial distemper and rabies shots. Cats are given a feline leukemia test and dogs over six months of age are given a heartworm test prior to adoption. Adoption fees for dogs and puppies 6 months of age and up is $100 and up, while young puppies are $150 and up. Kittens and cats up to 2 years of age are $75, while cats over 2 are only $50. All animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Spaying or neutering your pet through a veterinarian can cost hundreds of dollars. So not only are you giving a deserving animal a loving home and getting neutering and microchipping services at a fraction of what it would cost elsewhere - you are also supporting the Delaware SPCA and its mission of preventing cruelty to our four-legged friends.
