Organization Info & Adoption Guidelines

We are passionately dedicated to save the lives of great dogs who are at risk if they remain in their present situation. Our dogs come from local and out of state: Pounds, Shelters and Rescue Partners. Some are strays whose owners cannot be located, and some are turned over to us by owners who can no longer care for them for various reasons.

We strive to make New Day a high quality rescue with emphasis first and foremost on the welfare of each dog. We try to provide the best possible care for our rescue dogs to help them be healthy and happy - in some cases healthy and happy for the first time in their lives. Our organization runs solely by volunteers that give of themselves in a labor of love. Prior to adoption, Dogs are vetted, altered, updated for age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested/treated, frontline flea/tick preventatives applied: meeting medical needs and Vet Recommendations.

New Day dogs are fostered and cared for by volunteers: providing a safe clean environment, high in nutrition meals, a soft bed, toys, treats, friends to play with, and most of all plenty of TLC. We are considered a "small" rescue because we only take in as many dogs as we feel we can provide with quality attention on a daily basis. We feel that it is important to know the personalities and habits of our foster dogs, so that we can find the home that best matches their needs. While in foster, we observe personality, disposition & temperament; introduce handling & grooming; and emphasize socialization.

Our adoption process begins with an Adoption Application followed by Reference Checks & telephone interviews. A family and/or home visit may be required.

When making the decision to adopt: Please consider that it will take time for your new dog to adjust to its new home. This can take 2-4 weeks and sometimes longer. They may require extra exercise or less visitors to your home at first. We ask our potential adopters that in your adoption commitment, be prepared for making adjustments to your daily routines during your dog's acclimation period. Tips on introducing your new dog to resident pets are available from our FAQ page.

We do not typically adopt dogs to individuals under the age of 25 or to families with children under the age of 12, nor do we place dogs with families who are renting their homes. We encourage potential adopters to involve the whole family in dog training classes & socialization, as well to make arrangements for their dogs to be attended by pet walker, visitor and/or doggy day care services to break up the long hrs while away at work. Although we will consider exceptions as each situation is different, it is an unfortunate fact that hundreds of dogs are turned into rescues and shelters every year due to circumstances related to these situations. Our goal is to find our rescue dogs permanent homes where they will be safe and loved for the rest of their lives and ensure success for the adopting family.

Our Rescue pups & dogs are precious lives, once at risk through no fault of their own..rather for misfortune and/or misgivings by their former owners. It is New Day Rescue's focus to pad against our dogs from being failed again! We are obliged to the countless volunteers that contribute & give of themselves to networking effort....'From Rescue to Adoption', Saving & putting endangered innocent lives on a path to a BRIGHT Future by commitment of Loving Family and Forever Home!
