Our Featured Pet...

Our featured pets for this month are all of our adult cats. Now that kitten season is over, we'd like to focus on finding homes for a lot of adults. Please consider adopting an adult - as we say kittens turn into cats in a few short months! If you are looking to adopt a kitten, we'll have some next summer.

Lucky Paws Rescue feeds a lot of feral cat colonies and sponsors the food program for feral colony caretakers. We are in constant and dire need of food donations. We, of course, prefer higher quality dry cat food as these cats have hard lives and rely soley on the food we provide so we like what food they do get to be quality. We are seeking food donations of Science Diet, Iams, Purina Pro Plan, Nutro, etc. We would also welcome canned food donations but the dry food is their staple. If you would like to donate, please drop by food labeled for our rescue to Care Animal Hospital at 80th & Kipling in Arvada. We appreciate from the bottom of our hearts any donations! The kitties we care for appreciate it too!

Who We Are

Lucky Paws Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3) rescue formed to offer an alternative in our community for orphans, strays, abandoned, and unwanted cats and kittens who would otherwise face an uncertain future at other shelters. Lucky Paws Rescue is a no-kill rescue staffed totally by volunteers who have a passion for rescue. We provide loving foster homes for kittens too young for adoption, for injured or ill cats and kittens during recovery, and for cats and kittens in need of socialization. When they are ready for adoption we carefully interview and screen applicants so that each cat and kitten is assured a loving forever home! No pets are adopted without first being spayed or neutered, tested and vaccinated. Since opening in October of 2005, over 5,000 cats and kittens have passed through our rescue! There are always items that we need donated to our rescue. At this time we need dry cat and kitten food, canned cat and kitten food, litter, towels, baby blankets for the kittens, kitty toys, carriers that you may no longer need, kitty condos, or any supplies that could be used in foster homes for our cats and kittens. We are also in need of adoption alternatives. We currently showcase cats for adoption at Care Animal Hospital located at 80th & Kipling in Arvada. We also have cats and available for adoption at the Wheat Ridge Petsmart and the Superior Petsmart. You can stop by these stores anytime to visit our kitties. We are seeking additional adoption locations such as other pet specialty shops and other veterinary offices. If you know of anyone who would be interested in showcasing a cat or kitten for adoption for us, please contact us! Also we are gearing up for kitten season! We are in need of foster homes, especially those who can care for orphan kittens who are not yet weaned and need to be bottle fed. If you are interested in fostering for us please call and we'll set up a meeting!

Adopting a friend

Adopting from Lucky Paws Rescue is a commitment for the rest of the cat's life. Because our primary responsibility is to our rescued cats and kittens, and in order to ensure that the rescued cat has the best possible chance to succeed in its new home, we ask that you first submit an application. A volunteer adoption counselor will then contact you to conduct an interview and will then schedule a meeting with you and your family and the new cat or kitten you are interested in adopting to make sure it is a 'purr-fect' match. Our goal is making certain that each and every adoption is forever! Adoption Fee: $75. Fee includes: Vet check, spay or neuter, first vaccination, and testing for FIV/FeLV. Requirements: Local adoptions only (Denver Metro area). No out of state adoptions. All adopted cats and kittens must be taken home in a carrier. What to bring for Adoption: Driver's License. All family members should come to the adoption, especially children. Copy of lease/landlord permission if you rent your home. The name, address, phone # of your veterinarian. We don't accept credit or debit cards, so please plan on paying with cash or check.

Come Visit Us!

We do not currently have a shelter. All cats are cared for in foster homes until they are ready for adoption. If you are interested in any pet please read their profile on Petfinder which will indicate where they are available for adoption and the times they are available. Stop by to visit the kitty and if it is a good match fill out an adoption application. The adoption process requires that you fill out an application, we then do an intereview and check references and if approved we finalize the adoption! We update our Petfinder information daily so it always accurately portrays the kitties we have available for adoption.
