Featured Feline:

In the fall of 2003, a group of caring and committed shelter volunteers saw a need for a adoption and rescue due to many adoptable animals that just needed a little extra care being turned away from or put down by other shelters.
ANGELS WITH PAWS opened it's doors in February 2004. Since then we have saved over 9,300 lives .

ANGELS WITH PAWS is dedicated to saving lives and finding loving families for homeless animals. We provide humane care (including medical) and shelter for all animals we receive until they are adopted. We are even committed to the animals after they are adopted because we want them back if for any reason it does not work out or the adopter can no longer care for them. We are committed to educating the public on responsible pet ownership and to promoting the spay/neuter message.

Come to our end of the month Sat. & Sun. Fundraiser Garage Sales starting May 24 & 25, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the shelter parking lot.

We do not receive any government, corporate or other funding and rely on donations and adoption fees to survive. The last few years have been a bit difficult due to the economy, but with your help we've been able to continue the life saving work we do. We are in need of your continued support to keep our doors open.

ANGELS WITH PAWS is a 501(c)3 nonprofit public charity dedicated to saving lives and finding loving families for unwanted, homeless animals and shelter for pets (many of whom have been turned away from or would have been put down by other shelters due to illness, injury and being frightened). Angels With Paws is a mostly cage-free environment with most of our animals housed in one of nine cozy rooms. We also rely on wonderful fosters to give care to kittens, pregnant moms, cats that are ill, senior cats, cats that need hospice care and adult cats that are waiting for space to open up at the shelter. Several metro area Petcos and Petsmarts partner with us to provide space for our adoptable cats as well. Angels With Paws works with other animal welfare organizations to reduce the pet overpopulation in our neighborhoods and to find a loving family for any adoptable animal. Our "limited intake" policy: any animal with a good quality of life deserves a chance to find a family willing to love the animal and care forage or him or her (or them). We only euthanize if an animal is suffering and there is no more we can do for them. We are one of only a few local shelters that take in cats who are injured, ill, disabled, have chronic conditions (such as Diabetes, neurological disorders, FIV, FeLV, etc.), have behavior problems or are seniors as available space allows. We do not receive any government, corporate or other funding and rely on donations to operate.

Volunteer Opportunites:

ANGELS WITH PAWS needs your help! We are looking for volunteers to help with:

Fundraising is our biggest need
Helping clean and care for cats at the shelter
Foster Homes (esp. for orphaned "bottle babies" will train, pregnant & nursing moms, adult cats, shy cats, senior cats, cats with special needs)
Help with Adopt-a-thons and Events
Marketing and Promotion (as we have no $ for this)
Building Maintenance
Special Projects

***Please contact us if you can help in any way.***

We have an ongoing wishlist but we always seem to be short of
MONETARY DONATIONS, Cleaning Supplies such as Bleach, Liquid Laundry Detergent, Hand Sanitizer & Soap, Paper Towels, CANNED CAT & Kitten FOOD, KITTY LITTER (clay for the kittens and clumping for adults).

If you are cleaning out your baby items, drop off blankets you no longer need for your baby to our shelter. Our baby kittens will be very appreciative!

ANGELS WITH PAWS promotes responsible pet ownership with every adoption. Our hope is that any owner considering relinquishing their cats is educated on treatable and fixable problems in order to try to keep the cat in the existing home whenever possible. We educate our clientele regarding cat specific issues: spay/neauter, declawing, not allowing cats to free-roam (inside vs. outside), allergies, other animals in the household, litter box concerns and other feline issues.

Adopting a Friend:

If you are interested in any of our kitties that you see on PETFINDER.COM, please call (303-274-2264) to confirm availability.

Angels with Paws have cats at the Petsmart Applewood on Youngfield and in Ft. Collins. We also have cats at PetCos, 17132 West Colfax Avenue Golden, CO 80401, in Aurora on Quincy, We have a large selection of sweet cats there for adoption. If you are out in those areas, stop by and visit our feline friends! Even if you aren't looking for a pet, please tell your friends, relatives, and neighbors if they are looking for a new addition to their home to stop by for a visit! All of the cats that we place there for adoption are in need of a good home. They each have a profile posted and there is a nice area where you can visit with them to see if it is a good match!

1:00 -6:00 p.m. Daily

$75.00 - Adult Cat
$95.00 - Kitten (0-12 months)

Discounts apply for two kitties adopted together and sometimes for older or special needs cats

Spay/Neuter Surgery
Basic vaccination series (we do not vaccinate for Rabies or FeLV, but many of our cats are vaccinated for these as well)
Test for FELV/FIV Virus and Heartworm (not all shelters do these tests)

The cost of getting a "free" kitten and having all this done can easily exceed $100 and perhaps endanger your other pets, so you're getting a discount by going through the shelter! It also helps to partially cover the costs to the shelter (the basic costs of each cat and kitten averages $200-$300 which does not take into account the length of time that the cats are in our care prior to adoption, with many being much more depending on health issues)

Our cats and kittens are examined by our vet techs on staff and our shelter vet, Dr. Janet Taylor. We make a great effort to find out about the previous history of each cat to find a good fit for both parties.
