Our Pet List

Our Web Site

As of July, 2014, we have a new mascot for our rescue group. Her name is Petunia, we call her a Borgie (Border Collie/Corgie mix), she was found by a highway as a tiny puppy and it was quickly learned that she had some serious health issues, actually a liver birth defect and was born diabetic. Petunia had some very serious surgery at only 12 weeks of age and, although she will always be diabetic and receive insulin shots daily, she is now a happy and healthy girl. She was adopted by her foster home, you can see her happy smile on our homepage.

Who We Are

Our mission is to engage in any and all lawful activities for the prevention of cruelty to animals, to relieve the suffering among animals, and the extension of humane education.

Adopting a Friend

We presently have dogs and cats available for adoption. The adoption fee is $75 for either a dog or a cat. This fee includes a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit required by the State of Colorado if the animal is unaltered.

Volunteering and Donations

As we are strictly a volunteer organization, we always welcome additional volunteers. We are also looking for people to be foster parents. Donations are greatly accepted. Please mail your contribution to Delta County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1111, Delta, CO 81416-1111.

Come Visit Us!

As we are an all volunteer organization and animals are kept in foster homes (as opposed to one animal shelter), hours of operation are by appointment. We have a 24-hour answering service which we check on a daily basis. To visit with an animal, we request that you call the foster home and set up an appointment.
