Bitten By A Kitten Rescue is a private rescue in the San Francisco-East Bay area. We save orphan kittens from euthanasia in local shelters and take litters from private parties. We often take orphan litters to bottle-feed. Our kittens are all raised underfoot to be happy, healthy, friendly and affectionate family pets, with no bad habits. Kittens are spayed/neutered before they go to their adoptive homes, to be certain that they will never contribute to the tragedy of the overpopulation of companion animals in this country.
Adopting a Friend
Our adoption donation includes your new kitten's spay or neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, defleaing, and a healthy-kitten vet check. One kitten in each litter is tested for FIV/Felv. All of our rescues are fully socialized and litter box trained.
We ask that adopters fill out our simple adoption application and email it back to us so that we can assure the best possible homes for our kittens.
Upcoming Adoption Events
In general, we prefer to keep our kittens in foster homes and to adopt them out over Craigslist.org and Petfinder.com. We find that the kittens tend to be less stressed when they can remain in the loving homes that they are used to, and that adopters can see them to better advantage in their home environment. We have foster homes in various locales throughout the Bay Area. We do occasionally hold adoption events, which we will announce here and over Craigslist.
