Donate a Bed
Please help us to make our shelter dogs and cats more comfortable while waiting for homes. We still don't have enough Kuranda beds for all of our kennels. We need them in all sizes. If you would like to donate a bed so a dog or cat can sleep in proper comfort, please click here.
Who We Are

The society was incorporated in Fresno, California in 1946 under the laws of the State of California. The name was changed to The Central California Society For The Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals in 1958 with provisions that no other organization may use the former name, Fresno County Humane Society, Incorporated. Since the incorporation in June of 1946, The CC/SPCA has operated continuously and vigorously for the protection of animals. For 54 years the CC/SPCA has remained faithful to the objective implicit in its name: The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals

Our vision is to lead our community in promoting the quality of life for animals.

The Central California SPCA (CCSPCA), established in 1946 and located in Fresno County, California, is a non-profit humane society. The CCSPCA is dedicated to protecting and caring for the animals of our community. Open 7 Days a Week with the following service hours. Reclaim, Surrender, and Adoption Hours: 10AM to 5PM (6PM on Wednesday) Stray Intake Hours: 8AM to 5PM (6PM on Wednesday) Full Service Animal Control for City of Fresno: 8AM to 5PM Mon through Sat.

Emergency Response (Only on Sundays and Holidays) from 8AM to 5PM and at Night Between 5PM and 8AM.

Dog Training Classes will be from 6:00PM to 7:30pm on Wednesday evenings. Our focus is to end animal abuse and neglect and to reduce the number of unwanted animals through spay and neuter programs and humane education. Although the CCSPCA is contracted to conduct Animal Control Services and Rabies Control Enforcement within Fresno City, we are not federal, state or locally funded and do not receive aid from any national organization (including the ASPCA). Our funds come from our loyal supporters, allowing us to provide many vital services to our community. State Humane Officers appointed by the CC/SPCA, and approved by the Superior Court of California County of Fresno, trained in rescue of animals and investigation of complaints of abuse, have power to arrest in cases of cruelty to animals. Such authority, statewide, is used judiciously after all other corrective measures fail. Free ambulance service and shelter is provided for lost or stray animals in the City of Fresno, or those owned but temporarily without homes because their owners can no longer keep them. The CC/SPCA owns its own land, buildings and equipment purchased with privately donated funds. The CC/SPCA also assumes responsibility by contract to perform the Animal Control and Leash Law services for the City of Fresno dating back to September 1951. The modern facilities and caring staff offer safe refuge, nourishment, medical care and love to every animal in our care with education and support programs for the community.
