Santa Maria Shelter
Pet of the Month
At 2, Harriett is the perfect age. Past that puppy stage, but just getting started in her life. She is a wonderful girl who is anxious to please. When you go by her kennel, she will come up and wag her tail really hard because she is to happy to see you. She is sweet, easy to leash and good on walks. Harriett does well around other dogs. She is smart too. The volunteers think she might be housebroken and she knows how to sit. She loves to run and jump and is so happy when she is out in the yard. She’ll jump up next to you for affection. She is not shy about wanting love. Harriett has been at the shelter since Oct 15, 2016. HARRIET - ID#A407752.
The adoption fee is $110 plus a $13 license fee if you live in Santa Barbara County.
Open up your heart and your home to one of the many homeless and abandoned animals. The shelter is currently at capacity with many cats, dogs, and bunnies available for adoption. We are calling on the community to come visit, adopt, and support these wonderful animals. There are many dogs and cats not pictured as many come in daily. Our volunteers try to keep up with the pictures and descriptions, but it is a monumental task. Please come to the shelter to meet your new best friend!
Regular shelter adoption hours are Monday through Friday 10-4:30pm & Saturday 10-3:30pm.
The shelter currently has quite a few bunnies patiently waiting for a new home. These cute and furry creatures make great pets. If you would like to volunteer to help care for and socialize our bunnies, please contact Stacy Silva at (805) 934-6981 at The Santa Maria Animal Center.

Who We Are
We care for stray and homeless animals, including cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, rabbits and other animals such as chickens, guinea pigs or iguanas. We always hope the family will come to reclaim their lost pet, but is not, we work to find a loving new family for them.
We ensure that dogs are current on their rabies vaccination and license.
At Animal Services, our goal is to ensure that all the animals in our County have a safe place to live. We work hard to find loving homes for the many dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals that come into our care. Together, with community partners and concerned citizens, we are making sure that all these animals have a "Forever Home!"
