Who We Are

Welcome! Kitten Rescue is a non-profit organization located in the Los Angeles area, devoted to rescuing needy kittens and cats from shelter euthanasia and abandonment. We provide our rescued cats with all necessary medical attention and ongoing treatment to establish their health, while caring for them in foster homes, where they're given abundant love and affection. The kitties like that part the best!

Kitten Rescue presents cats for adoption regularly at locations all over S. CA, in addition to conducting private adoptions during the week, with the goal of finding loving, committed homes for every animal we take in. We also offer education and help to the public regarding all aspects of responsible pet ownership, care of kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering.

Adopting a Friend

Our adoption fee is $120, or $200 if you adopt two kitties at once. All of our cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, tested for leukemia and FIV, current on their vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed and treated for fleas prior to adoption.

Please be aware that there is a screening process involved in adopting a pet from Kitten Rescue. To help ensure that we place our cats in loving, responsible, and committed homes, we reserve the right to turn down potential adopters as we deem necessary. A home delivery or visit is a required part of the adoption procedure.

Please note that in certain cases of cats that are pure-bred or rare breeds, the adoption fee may be higher.

If for any reason you wish or need to return a cat you've adopted from us, you can do so within one week for a full refund of the adoption donation. After that, be it months or years later and we're still in existence, if you need to give up the animal, please bring it to us. We won't be able to refund the adoption fee, but we will place it in a new home.

Kitten Rescue cats are so for life...we're always here to answer questions and help solve problems.

By adopting a cat from Kitten Rescue, you're making a commitment to provide love, care, and medical treatment for the life of the cat, which can be up to 20 years. Adopting a cat is a serious decision, but one that is rarely regretted! We hope your furry companion brings you unlimited joy.

They may have four paws, but they can always use a helping hand! Kitten Rescue operates solely on the time, energy, and dedication of our volunteers. There are many ways you can get involved!

We always have an urgent, urgent need for Foster Parents. Why is fostering so richly rewarding? Because when you take in one or more foster cats, you are personally responsible for saving their lives. Whether you can care for one cat or many, once or frequently, we would love for you to become a Kitten Rescue Foster Parent at whatever level of commitment you choose. We offer training, guidance, and lots of moral support. Please click here to learn more about fostering.

We also need volunteers to help with our weekend adoption events. This involves transporting cats, cages, and supplies, setting up, screening potential adopters, caring for and playing with the kitties, providing education and information...and most importantly, having fun! Please click here to learn more about volunteer opportunities.

We're also looking for people to help with our fundraising campaigns, which involves newsletters, online auctions, and other event planning. In addition, publicity, telephone work, computer help, and "socializing visits" for timid animals are also all vital to our rescued cats.

For more information about volunteering with Kitten Rescue, please contact us by phone at (818) 347-3037, or stop by an adoption event. We'd love to meet you!

Surrendering a Cat

Like every other rescue group in Los Angeles, we are bombarded by requests from members of the public to take in cats or kittens. During kitten season (which lasts from March through October) we get as many as 20 requests every day! Before asking us to take some cats, please be very mindful that our resources are extremely limited. We are a no-kill shelter and can only rescue what we have room for in our foster homes. If you are in a position where you want to surrender a cat or cats, when you contact us, please give as much information about the situation as possible, including the time frame. Unfortunately, we have to turn most people down because of a chronic shortage of space and financial resources to care for our rescues.
