Who We Are

The Animal Assistance League of Orange County is a non-profit 501(C)(3)humane society dedicated to aiding lost and unwanted pets, helping people with pet-related problems, promoting responsible pet-ownership and pet population control, and preventing cruelty to animals through educational programs.

League Activities Include:

•No Kill Rescue Kennel, home to more than 100 dogs and cats rescued from shelters, streets, abandonment, abuse, and hardship situations.
• Lost & Found Helpline provides free assistance to those who have found or lost pets through telephone and website reconciliation resources 714-891-7387 (714-891-PETS)
• Spay/Neuter program promotes pet population control through low cost spay/neuter referrals as well as financial assistance
• Pet Aid donations to assist low income, disabled, and elderly pet owners who need help with transportation, routine and emergency veterinary care, or emergency food supplies.
• Shelter Aid donations for veterinary care of special needs animals from local shelters who suffer from illness, injury, neglect or abuse, and need rehabilitation.
• Humane Education through speaking engagements and the distribution of educational materials to the community throughout the year.
•Pet Planning assists pet owners with placement arrangements for their beloved pets in the event of the owner's death or disability.
•Supported entirely by membership dues, private donations, grants, bequests, and fundraising events. .

Adopting a friend

Animal Assistance League of Orange County is a no-kill organization that rescues dogs and cats from shelters and from a variety of hardships.
Requirements for Adoption:
Must be over 25 years of age.
Application with Veterinary Reference for current or past pets owned by you.
Home visit to introduce pets and check yard for safety.
Fencing requirements minimum 5-6 feet.
Gates must have locks.
Pools & jacuzzis must be fenced separately to prevent pet drowning....NO exceptions.
Adoptions are only approved for homes in or near Orange County, in southern California.
Minimum adoption fees for dogs are $150 and cats are $100.
All are spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and dewormed and have had a veterinary exam.
Some of our dogs have had extensive obedience training.
Most are located at our no kill rescue kennel, some are in foster care.
