Pet of the Month:
| MEET OUR CATAHOULA PUPPIES!
Who We Are
The Humane Society for Inland Mendocino County is a non-profit shelter run by a team of dedicated employees and volunteers. We have nearly 10 acres of wooded, cozy country property, which makes it even more enjoyable for both our volunteers and the animals.
Adopting A Friend
All of our animals are spayed and neutered prior to adoption. Dogs are heartworm tested and cats are tested for feline leukemia. All animals are vaccinated and dewormed. Adoption fees are $80 for cats, $225 for puppies up to 6 months old, $175 for adult dogs, $50 for senior dogs over 5 years old and $50 for dogs who have been at our shelter for 90 days or more. Please note, if you are surrendering an animal to our shelter, we charge a minimum of $20 for an owner surrender fee. This is to help offset the cost of medical care provided for our animals, such as spay/neuter, vaccinations, etc.
Anyone interested in adopting one of our shelter animals will, after being screened and approved via our application process, take the dog or cat on a "Home Visit," which usually lasts up to a week and is a perfect opportunity to be sure all is going to work out. Once we hear back, the adoption is processed and the animal is officially yours!
Come Visit Us!
Redwood Valley is roughly 2 1/2 hours north of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, and the Humane Society is VERY EASY to find! We are right off of Highway 101, about 10-15 minutes north of the town of Ukiah. After the exit for "West Road," the next exit off of the freeway is actually a left-hand turn lane, where visitors cross the southbound lanes of 101 and continue directly onto Uva Dr. From there, we are on the right hand side, you'll see our sign.
