Who We Are

Shellden Shelter for Cats was started by master photographer and animal lover, Shelley Dunnigan and animal advocate, Dennis Edlund, in Sacramento, California. Feeding a few stray cats at a horse barn lead to feeding dozens, which lead to trapping, neutering, vaccinating adult cats and raising multiple litters of kittens.
The shelter is just the beginning of a much larger dream which involves rescured dogs and horses. The recipe also calls for foster children and energetic grandparents... It's called Healing Stew. We have relocated our shelter to the Herald area, east of Galt.
