Many Westies we have placed had no other option for life had we not accepted them into our program. Perry, Heather, and Charlie are just a few examples of the love we have for our seniors, our breed and our commitment to them.

Westie Rescue of Orange County & Beyond is not affiliated with any other Westie rescue group in the Southern CA area.

Adopting A Friend

Our rescues are placed on PetFinder and our website at www.WestieRescueOC.com or www.WestieRescueCalifornia.com. All of our rescues are fostered in private homes throughout California where they receive medical care and rehabilitation. Not all of our rescues are posted until they are ready for adoption as all rescues are evaluated by their foster home over a 3 - 4 week period (sometimes longer).

Our primary focus is securing loving homes for unwanted, neglected and/or abused animals in California. We take particular care in placing our Westies. Please note that we DO NOT charge a fee to submit an adoption application and we DO NOT ship our dogs. Our screening process includes an application, reference checks, interview and a home visit to ensure the home and family is compatible with the Westies’ needs and our requirements. We request owners to sign a contract obliging them to contact us if they cannot provide for the animal for any reason. We will always take our rescues back if the adoption does not work out. Is a Westie right for you? For more information about our breed, visit the West Highland White Terrier Club of America's website at www.westieclubamerica.com. and take the "Profiler" quiz. You will also find this site to be an excellent source of information about the Westie breed.

When we place a rescue, we do everything we can to make this transition their very last. If you are unable to adopt, please consider a donation. All contributions are tax deductible and we are eligible for tax deductible gifts and bequests.

Who We Are

WROC is not affiliated with any other Westie rescue group in the Southern CA area.  We are the only IRS recognized 501(c)(3) non profit corporation in California recognized by the West Highland White Terrier Club of America.  All of our funds and efforts go to the rescue and support of our Westies.

Westie Rescue of Orange County & Beyond is a tax exempt 501c3 corporation, run by volunteers with no paid positions. WROC is dedicated to saving the lives of forgotten West Highland White Terriers by rescuing stray animals from shelters that have not been adopted, reclaimed by their owners, or abandoned. We accept owner turn-ins, and public referrals from boarding facilities, veterinarians, and groomers.

All our rescues are fostered in private homes throughout California where they live as a part of the family until they are adopted.  We NEVER board our Westies.  We specialize in Westie skin issues, work with a behaviorist for special needs dogs, and senior Westies have a special place in our hearts. WROC supports the "no-kill" philosophy.

WROC hosts many events throughout the year to promote fellowship and education of our breed. WROC aims to foster a community that is more informed and aware of the devastating effects of puppy mills, and to promote animal shelter adoptions.
