Who We Are

Siskiyou County Animal Control is responsible for the unincorporated areas in all of Siskiyou County. We have 2 animal control officers, 18 dog kennels and 9 cat kennels. 500 - 700 stray or abandoned animals each year are brought in by our animal control officers and the public, many of these animals are not adopted. We are trying desperately to reverse this trend through education, spaying, neutering and adoptions.

Adopting a friend

Adopting a pet from our shelter takes only a few moments of administrative time (paperwork) after one has taken the time to choose. and become aquainted with the pet that best suits ones needs. In order to continue our spay and neuter program, we request a $20.00 minimum adoption fee for cats and a $40.00 minimum adoption fee for dogs. Dogs that have been altered by us are vaccinated against Rabies, Parvo, Adenovirus 2, Distemper, and Parainfluenza. Cats that have been altered by us are vaccinated against Rabies and Feline Rhinotracheitis-Calici-Panleukopenia. Any pet adopted from our shelter may be returned within 30 days at no charge to the owner.
