As part of its Animal Control Service, the FVRD manages a Community Animal Response & Education Centre (CARE), which temporarily houses lost, stray and impounded dogs. Our dedicated staff provides quality medical care, nutrition, socialization and exercise to the dogs in their care. Some of these dogs are waiting to be claimed by their owners, while others are being evaluated to determine their adoption needs.
The welfare of the dogs is our top priority. We aim to reduce stress and keep our dogs healthy and happy while they wait for new homes.
Pet ownership is a serious commitment. We encourage potential adopters to think seriously about the time, financial and emotional commitment to owning a dog. Once you've decided you're ready to own a dog, we can help you find the perfect addition to your family.
At our CARE Centre we strive to match breeds and temperaments to potential owners to find the best match for both. We go the extra mile to make sure our dogs will stay happily placed in their new homes.
Check out some of the dogs we currently have for adoption.
For more information about the adoption process, visit our CARE Centre webpage or call 1-844-495-CARE, or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Our adoption hours are 9:00 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
You can also visit the CARE Centre on Facebook.
If you are willing and able to make a more serious commitment, consider fostering one of our dogs for a short period of time. Fostering is a great way to improve a dog's quality of life while it waits for its forever home.
