SOL - Saving One Life
Who We Are
Saving One Life is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer run, animal rescue that focuses mainly on the animals that would have been otherwise euthanized at the pound or humane society. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save.
We primarily take in cats and kittens of all types including: purebred cats, semi-feral cats, and severe medical cases when we have funding to do so. We are no longer able to take in dogs at this time. We are a no kill group and provide hospice care for animals in our care with terminal illnesses. We very rarely take owner surrender animals. However please go to the end of the page if you have found a litter of kittens or if your own personal cat has become pregnant. We may be able to assist on a case by case basis when funding allows. We also have long-standing sanctuary animals that are adoptable to those homes willing to work with them.
All animals that are put up for adoption are
bloodtested for felv/fiv (feline leukemia and feline aids)
Adoption fee's range depending on the animal's age and breed. All adoption fees assist other animals in our care - we do not have any paid employees. All of our animals are cared for in foster homes until they are able to go up for adoption although we will shortly be opening a very small sanctuary. We may occasionally have animals in foster homes as long as six years (the running record so far) until they are adopted – once an animal is in our rescue, we will do everything feasible to care for that animal. Our foster animals live as a “part of the family” until they are able to be put up for adoption. If we can, we will test them with cats, dogs, and children depending on who lives in the home.
Adopting a friend
To adopt from us please visit www.savingonelife.org and begin filling out an application. You should get a response within 48 hours - if you do not, please email us to let us know you have submitted one. Home visits may be required for special needs animals on a case by case basis.
We do allow for out of state adoptions however we do NOT ship any animals under any circumstances. Adopters must come meet the animal in person so that it can be determined that it is a mutual match. If you are considering adoption and have questions, please EMAIL firstname.lastname@example.org for a faster response time.
Come meet our animals!
Although we are located primarily in the East Valley, we do have foster homes located all over the greater Phoenix Area. You can also see some of our adorable cats and kittens at our Petsmart location at 2860 E Germann Rd, Chandler, AZ 85286. Call the store or email if you are looking to see if a particular one may be there. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent please email us! Only with dedicated foster homes are we able to save more lives. We provide all veterinary care and can provide food and litter if needed.
As a volunteer based organization we couldn't do this without YOU! We need dedicated foster parents to get animals ready for adoption and volunteers at our petsmart to help the kitties who are already ready and looking for homes. Please email - we have many young volunteers who work with a parent or guardian to get experience with animals, build a resume, get volunteer hours for national honors society, or just to have fun with fabulous cats and kittens!
So you need help with some cats or kittens...
Kitten season is fast approaching. If you have found a litter of unweaned kittens outside please leave them where you have found them - they have the best chance of survival by remaining with their mom. Chances are that mom is hiding nearby and has been feeding the kittens when no one is around. Once the kittens are able to eat dry food they are at the point of being able to be removed from their mother. If you have taken in such a litter and are able to foster them please contact us. We will provide all veterinary care and supplies if you need them as well but we can't do this without you opening your heart and home to them until they are ready to move onto homes of their own! (currently this is only on a case by case basis depending on funding available at the time).
If your own cat has accidentally become pregnant please see our page
Currently we are not accepting any owner surrenders. Please contact us however if you have adopted an animal from us and need to return it.
